@Aggroed Uses My 234k YouTube Account To Spread Steemit!!

in #steemit7 years ago (edited)

Hello! My name is Brian Turner and I'm a full time YouTuber (and now Dtuber as well!) of 7 years!

My channel is at roughly 234k subscribers and encompasses acne, fitness and vegan audiences

I want to leverage my social media following to help grow steemit however I can because I truly love steemit and believe in it's future as well as feeling good when I refer people onto the site. One of the ways I want to do it is to meet with Steemians who have a special involvement or story to share about Steemit. A lot of you all know @aggroed - he helped me quite a bit when I was starting out and continues to help me onboard fellow youtube colleagues and viewers. He recently visited San Diego and so I wanted to make some content, some of you may have seen the full raw steemit interview with him I posted the other day here: https://steemit.com/steemit/@brianturner/dcwdnymq

I always try to double the impact by creating multiple pieces of content so I also wanted to feature aggroed in a shorter clip on my main channel so I could expose my audience there to steemit as well. Aggroed and I went to lunch after our workout so it was a perfect way to include him in my full day of eating series this week, the video has been up on the main channel since Sunday now! In the clip aggroed explains who he is, why steemit matters to him and even gives a call to action to join steemit today! After he said that I also mention that you can check out steemit, I think these types of mentions within mainstream social media is going to be a huge way of planting seeds/backlinks all around the web that source traffic here! If you want to see the clip by itself, here it is:

The full video that is on my main channel is available here:

Awesome! Thank you! You rock!
Bring 'em all over, although I think, that we shouldn't lure people into Steemit with the (false) promise, that they will earn money here. Only 5% of people are content creators and another 5% are able to write comments that make sense. 90% are just passive consumers. The history of social media shows that. These 90% will not make money here (unless they invest huge amounts and become whales, who earn money just by curating). So we shouldn't bring people here with this promise. I'm not saying, that you are doing this - just want to make this basic point, what many well intended initiatives are doing wrong in my opinion. If we drive huge amounts of people here with the idea, that they will make money here, we will create many disappointed people and this will backfire.
Nevertheless, I enjoy your videos - especially the ones with @aggroed - and I never thought, that I will once watch videos by a fitness guy. I guess, I will die as a "workout virgin", but at least I have watched your videos and now know, that people do workout without being forced - out of free will - which is amazing by itself! 😀

That's some very good points, I think that the rewards for people would just be in seeing exclusive content and getting more attention from the creator due to a smaller audience on here vs their main platforms. Eventually people would earn $20 here or there after watching for 6 months and upvoting and stuff and possibly getting upvotes from the creator himself :)

Thanks for the support man, I am glad you are watching even if you aren't a fitness guy! Let me know if you ever need some fitness advice though, working out is good for the body!

Great advice to YouTubers to sprinkle in mentions of Steamit on their YouTube channel. Oops I guess I'll upload my Steamit intro video onto my Youtube channel. I guess that is easy.

yah definitely the preferred way for the general audience not to be effected by it!

Good video
