Thanks for the break down. I have been trying to figure out the real value and it really feels like I am paying for promotion and not getting value. I really don't see very much monetary value to the bots. I tried a post with multiple bots and still got no attention. Honestly not sure how to make a difference. The worst part is many of these bots clutter up your post with announcements of their wonderful vote. The funny part of it is we see new people come onto steemit all the time with what feels like sub par content and getting crazy amounts of votes and rewards. I can see how many good content providers might get frustrated and walk away from the platform. I'd personally be happy just knowing someone other than myself was seeing the post. If my post has 10 views it's because I looked at it 8 times. lol

You are so correct.
Personally I would like all of the promotional tools to be outlawed by the community, but since they are not, then using them correctly and often can allow you to see a greater return.
The more people that use them, the less voting power there will be for the abuser's to use them exclusively.
