once upon a time in Rantau Mahakam, there was a family who live well. When their mother died of illness, the family's life changed. The father who had been diligent work became moody and reluctant to worked. The fields that thrive was slowly starting to dry up and the results was not as usual.
For the sake of seeing that, his sons asked my father to rise again. However, the father's heart remains sad and immobile. Therefore, the children asked the village elders to give father advice. The result remains the same, my father considers that advice only last wind.
This situation lasted long enough. Until one day there was a custom harvest party, which features a variety of performances such as dance and dueling performances. Among the performers, there was a beautiful girl who invited so much attention from the people present. It was so interesting that he wanted to see it too.
On the seventh night, the last day of the harvest festival party, the father watched the girl twisting dancing earnestly. Fascinated father's heart to the girl. Especially when girls threw a glance at the audience. The bracket was welcome. Apparently girls also like dad.
In folklore, told after mutual interest with each other, the two met the village elders to ask for blessing. Also did not forget the children's father. The next day, they exchanged firewood to the neighbors with food. Children are trying to find where their father and stepmother are. Two-day trip two nights they have traveled, but have not found any signs of father's existence. This leaves the kids broke. Bekal out and tired, making their spirit slack. Lucky they saw a hut there was smoke. Go to them quickly.
Apparently the one who occupied the lodge was a grandfather. The children immediately asked grandpa. The grandfather recalled the item for a moment, then said that he saw a woman and a man going to the village across the river. The children went straight by borrowing the grandfather's boat.
Sure enough, at the end of the village across the river, the children found a newly built cottage. When it reached the lodge, there was no one. There is only furniture and utensils. They immediately recognize it all belong to the father.
The children went into the house. There, they found a hot porridge and immediately ate it because of the unbearable hunger. Initially the brother who ate it until left a little, then his sister who ate it until demolished. But, because the porridge they eat is still hot, the body temperature quickly rises.
The two of them ran to and fro to find water. Because they do not find in the house. They ran out, hoping to find the river. All the banana trees passed by the children die of heat. Arriving at the mouth of the river, without thinking again they immediately jump into the river.
Simultaneously father and stepmother came. They are shocked to have a parcel of their two children. The stepmother was equally surprised to find the pot was empty and she saw many banana trees die of heat. Father and stepmother went down the dead banana trees until they finally found the river. And, two strange animals that spout water from inside his head.
The father's mind immediately flashed to the events that had been happening in his life. When he woke up, he did not find his wife by his side. Apparently his wife had disappeared unseen. Then my father realized if his wife is not from among human beings. That's why his wife never wanted to tell her whereabouts.
People came to see the strange animal. Then, name it as tidal fish or dolphin. The Mahakam people called Bawoi.
