Delhi had its first ever (and very successful) Steemit meet a few days back, all thanks to @firepower - READ and some of us thought why not make it a regular event.
Over 40 Steemians came for Delhi's first meet-up (pic by @varunpinto)
Lets make this even bigger now that we know each other and can spread the word to get in newbies also. Need comments and suggestions guys.
DATE
25th Feb or 4th March : please pick (its a Sunday)
VENUE
- Afternoon, central Delhi at a cafe / snacks joint
or - Evening at a pub / cafe / watering hole in Gurgaon (in this case, can be a Saturday too)
or - Drive / ride to a nearby (1-2 hour away) location like Damdama (everyone shares the cost, we can bring in some cars and go together)
COSTING
Option 1 is much cheaper - there can be a small joining fees which can be redeemable against food / beverages - we need to pay the cafe / snacks joint for using the place
Option 2 will be higher - we can pick a place with BYOB - bill for eatables can be shared
Option 3 will be same as Option 2 as we share fuel costs. But will be enjoyable due to outdoors
SUGGESTIONS
Suggestions are welcome. For example,
- @Komal suggested we can do a gift culture - everyone gets a little gift, a surprise for the other person. We mix all the gifts and pick one randomly
- We can pool in money for a noble / social cause at a NGO
- Even meet at a huge park (Chanakyapuri for example)
This will not be possible without sharing the post / idea with others. Or tag Delhi Steemians. I have a list, adding them all here

i think monthly meets would be enough. I will choose 4th march for now but cannot commit
I guess monthly then it is as per multiple suggestions. We might skip 4th March due to Holi weekend and probability of Steemians being out of town. Fingers crossed
@bunnypunia, you are The Flash of Steemit - So much action, so fast. I am comfortable with the following points:
Thanks for the words - just trying to make sure all of us meet and share ideas for the betterment of the community
My answer is same as above.. he’s my better half, we’ll come along 🤩
Awesome :)
hey, thank you for appreciating the idea but I proposed for paying for the other person not bringing the gifts ! :P
Okay @komal. I am confused now, haha!
I think you meant that I will bring one gift and everyone else will do the same. Then we will mix all of them. Each one of us will get to pick one. Does it sound similar to your suggestion?
no no no...it's just we come and meet and if we feel like, we could pay for someone's food. That way, people who can't afford that expensive cafe, can enjoy eating too .
I hope you get it now :)
Ah, thank you @komal. I get it now. Super thought out and I am in. :-)
great :)
if you really like the idea, I would suggest you to try it with total stranger and feel the happiness :D
to know about gift culture, you can read this blog
here...https://steemit.com/economy/@kunalkankhare/what-is-gift-culture.
4th March is Holi week, most of us are going home for Holi. I will say let's do it on 25th Feb.
That's a great catch @neelamgahlyan. 🌈
@bunnypunia, please see if we have enough people ready for 25th FEB.
I can come on this date as well. 😀
Or worst case we shift. Lemme dig
Nice thought @bunnypunia and i think it should start in all cities of India. I am fully agree with your initiative. Also @komal suggestion is acceptable. Along with gift should share our experience with new users. Good luck !
Noted, thanks for the inputs brother. Yes, #steemit should spread across the country. Cheers
Great start bunny. Let's go with option 1 for it will be easy for everyone and we all will be spending more time talking rather than commuting.
Date: Available both Sundays.
Noted brother :)
Nice one @bunnypunia Would be great for a weekend outing...contri by each for the expenses...i agree
Yes - that also sounds good. A walk in isolation, or hike up the Aravali hill and likewise - makes sense. Lets see :)
Let us do something interesting, so that more and more people get attracted to join us !!
Something that can promote steemit also as a whole and our blog as well !!
May be we can ask people to speak on some topic that they write about, or is important to them. We can nominate some people to present themselves and then can make a video and post.
If it is not just a meetup, but an event , people will come here to get motivated to expand themselves through steemit.
But keep it monthly, like abi 11th ko hua tha, next 11th k baad rkhlo. Its too soon for 25 feb or 4 march.
We can also go to different places and do various activities for fun at times (obviously sharing the costs), i dont have an issue with any of the 3 options. But that gift wala idea i didnt like, it gives me a school vaali feeling 😛😅.
This meetup every month is a fantastic idea bunnypunia. Lets make it large !! 😃😃😃
All the ideas noted - also happy to say that we are the ONLY Indian city that is communicating this much for proper monthly meets on #Steemit - cheers to all of us
Never saw such serious people in Delhi 😛😅.
Where have you guys been hiding until now 😏😅👁
Hee haaa !!
It's too early to keep another meet already. I like the idea of monthly meet.
AGreed !
and tum delhi se ho?
Staying in Delhi for the time being. I'm from Mangalore.
Areeeeey - we decide today, implement tomm and meet day after. As in decide on 17th, talk talk talk and implement by 25th and meet early March.
AND - dont you meet your friends every few days or once a week - then why not us :(
I DONT meet my friends every few days 😛 I meet them every 2-3 months. May be Its because i have too many friends 😛
:-D
Somewhere mid March should be fine I think or maybe second week.
I'll be out of town in the first week.

Hi your articles and photos are very interesting , plz support and upvote my blogs. ☺☺☺
@bunnypunia I would have been ready for either of these and loved the suggestion of @komal, but sadly i won't be able to attend as am going home after 16 months for holi :(
Would love to see the pictures tho :D
16 months / 480 days is a lot of time. Family always first - cheers and enjoy the time with them
Didn't mean I never met them in between, they used to visit me here :)
Will definitely enjoy the time at home and wait for your post after the meet or maybe during the meet like this time :D
thanks for liking the suggestion but I guess you all are taking it different way. My proposal is to pay for the other person since not everybody is able to afford an expensive cafe !
Bhai next kab hona hai??? I missed this one. :(
Next ke liye hi to yeh blog hai - pick the date as per your schedule and give us some good suggestions
hey, it's so great of you that you mentioned me here but my idea of gift culture was to pay for the other person there. Not to collect gifts for someone !
What I presumed was , say if 20 turn up, each one gets a gift. So we have 20 gifts and can pick one randomly before leaving. Like how it happens during Christmas parties.
But the thing that you wrote also sounds very cool !!
that's your views...but that's not what I thought. I am glad you understood my point :)
Yes, I do now :)
What does @komal mean by Gift Culture is different from most of the people interpreting about bringing in gifts.
This blog will give you more idea about what actually Gift Culture is https://steemit.com/economy/@kunalkankhare/what-is-gift-culture
