Secrets to be successful in steemit. Carla Gonzalez.

Welcome steemer !! Today I want to give some of my advice on how to grow in Steemit.

      source

Every day more people join this wonderful network, and I thought to keep these tips for me, but I think it will be good for the community if this information is shared. Many people join steemit and do not know exactly how the network works, so I think these tips will help a lot of people. Here I will share some tips for beginners to win Steem Dollars (SBD) and Steem Power (SP) in Steemit.

  • MORE CREATE, LESS VOTE

Yes, you read it right! A common misconception is that you can vote and make decent money at Steemit. This is true ... If you are a Steemit whale (the Steemit whales are people with a lot of influence on the page whose Steem power is high and exceeds the millions.) But for us the "newbies" we have been in Community for a few weeks or less, this is not so true. On the other hand you can win SOME SP if you vote a post that is popular and earn money, it will not be much unless you are the first to vote or do it in the rank that the post is not so popular and the post wins hundreds or thousands. So you have to have very good taste and be lucky to win by voting in the first few days of your account. Creating quality content is the best way for beginners to gain influence on the page and money. do not forget.

  • Dont be lazy

Steemit is a social network that pays its users for their participation and for the intellectual property in diverse contents through the use of the criptomonedas. Keyword "Participation"! Although some users are making thousands of dollars for their influence, we should note that none of the thousands of dollars made in posts, it took less than 1 minute to prepare, maybe not even 5 minutes. They took their time and really set out to develop a theme and bring in quality material to steemit. This community is not the place where you will be enriched by selfies, plagiarizing information or nonsense. Do not be lazy, invest time and effort! Many times it happens that you have a very good post and it is not as popular as you hoped, do not let that put you off !!

  • Read and COMMENT

Commenting is one of the most underrated ways to win at Steemit. I've had comments on some of my posts that have earned between $ 1 and $ 10! Even higher than what generates the post itself, this happens because the contribution of other users has enriched the information of the post and therefore earns money your comment. At the same time I have seen 1 sentence in comments earning $ 0.50 or less. It will not make you rich, but if you spend enough time on the platform and comment on the messages that catch your interest you can build a balance of SP gradually. Remember, building your SP is the most important factor in Steemit and it is important to build it since this will define the value of your votes and level (influence) in the community, commenting on the post is one of the easiest ways to do it. I recommend looking at the labels (trending), choose one that interests you so leave a comment of value that adds some interest to the post.

  • Never forget to use PICTURES

This is simple but very important advice. Most messages in Steemit that do not include an image are discarded. Remember the second tip. An image gives the reader an idea of

what to expect once they click to read what you have to say. Seriously, images are important to me when I'm surfing. Many times I do not click on a message that does not have an image because it simply does not catch my attention, remember that you have 10 seconds to get the attention of the reader and I am sure that the eyes of other users have been trained to see only Post with some kind of image next to the description. If you're not sure how to put an image in your publication, visit https://giphy.com/. Simply upload the image you want to use in your publication, click on download, copy and paste the URL of the images in your publication where you want the image to be located. The first image of your publication will be the default image for it, remember that when you use images that are not of your own you must place the link where they come from, remember that the images give life to your post.

  • CONSISTENCY

Stay active, consistent and build a reputation. Post daily but do not spam. 1 to 5 times is my daily goal, but I make sure that those posts are of quality, contribute information or are important to me. Extend them during the day to explore the best times of the day. Once in the morning, then in the afternoon, then in the evening. Your consistency will earn you a loyal following and people will come to your page to see what you are doing. Inconsistency will damage your image and you will also lose SP and SBD. Think like this: "If I publish 3 times a day, with 3 posts that are well thought out and put together with intelligence, then that increases my chances of being seen by more voters, which means more SP and SBD." Do not spam because that will give you a bad reputation and people will not click on your post or you might stop following it.

source

  • Plan ahead

One secret I started to implement last week is the advance planning for my publications. When I'm out try to think of ideas for my next post and try to put them in my notebook or the notepad of the cell phone. The next day I choose 1 to 3 of those ideas and I start to write and at the end of that day I'm already planning what I'm going to post the next day. This way I try not to spend a day without posting a post. Remember that you never know when you will have a "muse" or inspiration, publish some that day and save some for the next day.

  • RECEIVE YOUR POWER OF STEEM

Last but not least. This is my biggest advice and it should not be a secret. But if you're new, you may not know the importance of saving your SP. Steem Power is what in effect influences EVERYTHING that you do in Steemit. The more SP you have, the more chance you have of winning. It's like super powers. It is very tempting to want to lose energy and get all your STEEM power and go shopping, but if you ignore the temptation and wait, you will be very happy to have done so in the future. Your steem energy is always growing, even when you are doing nothing. And the more you have, the more you grow. Think of it as rolling a snowball over a mountain. Or when a train starts up and starts picking up "Steem". This influences how much your votes are worth. If waiting to increase your SP amount on the day you need to collect them will not be cents or STEEM, it will be worth reducing your influence.

The faster you go, the faster the potential to win. If you accumulate all your SP for months and years, you will be a whale that can sit and be paid for upvotes !. And that's my biggest motivation to keep mine in my wallet to grow!

I hope these tips will help and send you in the right direction. I'm sure if you use these secrets, you'll be much more successful at Steemit than you think!

If you have been helpful this post share (resteem) so that others can get this information :)

I hope you have an excellent and happy day and that these tips will help you grow and be successful in steemit.

Thanks, those are really helpful tips!!
Happy-01

Your welcome (:

I also just started being more active on Steemit.

I think another value of commenting on others posts is the fact that you are engaging with the author. This often leads to new friends and new followers which is key for being successful. It is not always about the payouts in the beginning. Steemit is a community and connecting with others is key.

Darryl

Of course if connecting is the key of the network but already over understood hehe just as well very good job with the comment to that I mean, well done !! (:

Thank you Carla! Very nice and useful post. Good info for newbies like me. Good luck!

Thanks to you for reading my publication, I hope you have been very helpful, have a nice day

Thanks @carlagonz i'm still new and tbh i am guilty of being a bit lazy. I have connected with some really good people and had a comment upvoted that was worth about $17 so that's encouraging. Thanks for posting upvoted and followed :)

I have had post with few votes but 60 dollars whales can be all just need dedication, and shake the laziness! Thank U and happy day for U (:

Thank you for the post, I've been trying to find my way around Steemit, this is pretty helpful. I have lots of topics I want to write about, some are prepared and some already finished, but I'm just wondering what is the best way to get my articles to be seen. I hope I will soon have even more time to dedicate to Steemit, it's an amazing platform. Best of luck to all of you guys :)

good luck buddy, take your time to use steemit, is a great community

Thanks @carlagonz ,this is quite helpful and i've learnt some new things with this post of yours.Thank you for putting the newbies into consideration.

Whenever I can help them I will, thanks to you for reading my post a strong hug :)

You are welcome.

Thanks for sharing Carla, very valuable information. I must say that I'm getting a little skeptical about the whole "kvaliti matters" thing - spending all night researching and writing my first topic and then just ses it disappear in a matter of minutes with 2 views and 1 like. All the while seeing some high priced nonsense being peddled to a "critical (but not really)" audience on the hot page.... I think the idea behind steemit is great, but observing it for a couple of days and then interactionin with it, makes it very obvious that there is a big difference when it comes to some ppls power, and a lot of "small fish" are flooding the site with a lot of stuff to try and get that 50 ducks post or higher... Anyway, nice to of you to share your experince, i'll stick around for a bit and see how it goes, the monetary aspect seems a little corrupt but the people are very nice here.

Many times we find post they are really very good and are not rewarded as it should, otherwise we find a couple of post with three photos and a description of two lines and sometimes approaching 1000 USD is completely crazy sometimes very pretty women Make money for their image is not corrupt, remember that steem is a non-minable criptomoneda devised a social network to generate blockchain very innovative !!

Maybe I should clarify a little, when I say corrupt I don't mean that the concept is corrupt. I rather mean to say that the people that already got monetary (in this case STEEM), or the people that are willing to pay, got a lot more to say on this site then ppl. that don't have the same monetary power. If Steemit want to succed in any big scense, then they really need to address this problem by changing the dynamic a bit. At this point, in my mind, steemit is NOT a social network, its a blog-platform where some make a lot of money and a whole lot of people don't - the biggest problem is that this is not how it is "sold" out in the wild. I think Steemit is a great site, but something have to change if people should continue caring.

you're rigth nice comment, happy nigth :)

Good point, I'm fairly new so I haven't figured out the whole picture yet, but I've noticed this. I also think that there are people already trying to solve this problem, I've come across this somewhere, but don't remember anymore. It was about rewarding undervalued posts. Maybe it was steemvoter/streemian or something like that.

Cool Post :) upvoted

Particularly like the advice on trying to build up SP :). Resteemed!

yes me too! loved your post. Full steem ahead. I will resist the urge to shop. Save now play later :)

Yes. And, if only everyone would just store as much as possible in SP instead of cashing out, then the would price would surely go up!! ;). Which would make everyone holding SP richer (on paper, at least), make the payouts increase, and therefore attract more users ;) I.e., virtuous circle.

Ok, so, some people will always need to cash out, and this includes witnesses paying for server costs, and writers trying to use the platform to make a living.

But, the 'running costs' should be way lower than bitcoin for example because the network is very efficient. It requires something like $15million to be spent by new buyers of bitcoin every day just to keep the price at the same level (in order to pay for mining costs)! Yet, bitcoin is marketed as a great thing to save money in. I think SP could be a better choice as a store of value/investment (while it can continue grow the user base) - but maybe this requires some better marketing / or something!, to get this message out :)

wow! I had no idea that the running costs are lower. Marketing this would be a great thing for Steemit. Bitcoin has first mover advantage, and since they have been around longer, they gained more credibility. As Steemit continues to do well, I have no doubt that people will value Steem as much as the do Bitcoin. Thank you for the insightful comment. I just learned so much, just like that! Aww snap!

Yes, there is no mining - it just requires 20 people (witnesses) to have a server running! Actually, I'm really wanting to try run one myself....not sure they have them here, but with the crypto 'Lisk' I believe there are witnesses that offer 'cash back' to those that vote for them. I'd to see this here, because if the price of steem is high then witness pay is a lot more than is actually needed to run a server! im curious to look into doing that here, and seeing how well or not well the idea might be received :)

It is true that steem has around 10% inflation which is scheduled to reduce by around 1% per year until it will remain fixed at 1%. Whereas bitcoin inflation is around 4% and is halved every 4 years. But the inflation comparison is not the key factor I think because in bitcoin just about all the inflation has to go towards paying for energy costs - which is essentially just burning all the money! With steem, there isn't this intrinsic costs - it's only about people's choices, I.e., either saving with SP, or spending their STEEM.

You should totally run! I'll vote for you. We need people who are really knowledgable running the system. Thanks for taking the time to write all of that.

Another question I have had, which you probably can answer best is... I have always wondered where all the steem money comes from. Everyday, we all get a certain amount of Steem we can give away by our upvote. But if we keep upvoting and money is just being made, won't that eventually cause massive inflation? Wouldn't the value of Steem go down if there is too much of the currency at once? So as more users sign on... what happens? Sorry might sound like a silly question... but I have no idea how it works!

Thanks very much for your potential vote! ;)

About the inflation, it is a very good question.
In fact the STEEM as it was last year was probably the poster-child of just how terrible high inflation can be on the price of an asset.
The implementation then was that inflation in STEEM was set to around 100% per year!!
The theory was that if you held STEEM POWER you would be compensated with very high interest rates which was supposed to counteract this.
However, in practice, because the inflation in STEEM was so high, any traders e.g., on poloniex, would never want to hold steem except for the shortest possible times when there were small spikes up in price; they would always want to sell again straight after. So in order to address this, they changed the model completely (to the one I just described), early this year I think.
Just have a look at the graph of steem before that time: https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/steem/#charts !

But now, 10%, and falling each year, is not unreasonable I think...and in line with what other cryptos have had. Ethereum for example currently has higher inflation than this, and it was still able to rise to a market cap of around $40 billion recently.

In answer to your question about whether more upvotes will cause more inflation, this is not the case. Instead, the inflation rate is fixed, which means that every day some small fixed percentage of steem is created and awarded out. When upvotes occur they just get totalled up and then the amount of steem to be awarded each day is divided out proportionally by each vote's weight. So, less votes per day mean each vote pays out more, and more votes per day means each vote pays out less (relatively).

Have a read of https://steemit.com/faq.html, which explains a lot of this pretty well.

Always save for your future good

agreed! Saving is the best.

yes, dear is the best option (:

Thank you, this is very important, happy night

yeah, I didn't quite get that - does it mean not claiming the steem you've earned until you have a lot or not withdrawing steem to some outside wallet and spending it?

I think it's about saving vs. spending, and if you believe in the steemit platform and by extension that this will cause SP to increase in value over the long term, then it is logical to try to convert all your earnings into steem power because the more steem power you have the more the rewards/earnings you can get from the platform (from interest, curation, and posting)

New here on steemit - it's definitely tempting to want to "cash out" but also very important to keep steem power and grow your account and steem itself. I have a feeling that this platform has the potential to be very rewarding for those who invest in it.

Cool :)

Of course it is very rewarding and a very good opportunity to share your knowledge and earn money! Use it to the fullest, happy night

I like that you highlighted the point about creating quality content. This platform has great potential, it would be a shame if it becomes just another social media site. Share great content, and share the wealth..at least that's my view

Wow! Very informative article. I'm like right out of the box new and just trying to understand all of this. Plus some of your followers remarks were also extremely interesting. Thanks again. Upvote from me.

If many followers followed the advice of "comments" very happy that you read the post and for your support, a hug and happy night friend (:
