Yowzers has it already been one month on Steemit? Time sure flies when you’re innovating on the Blockchain, doesn’t it? It feels like only yesterday when I spent over a day filming and editing my five-minute video for my very first blog post on Steemit. I’ve definitely come a LONG way since then and I have learned loads of useful things that I will of course share with my favorite community in the universe! This is also a great time to talk about my plans for the next month and so as an extra special treat for all of your love and support, I’ll also be previewing my upcoming Steemit adventure. Let’s hop to it then!
How have I done in my first month?
Stats wise, I’ve done fairly well in my first month on Steemit: 350+ followers, almost 1000 posts and a few decimal points away from Level 50. All of this was only possible thanks to a TON of hard work every single day of the week. Since joining Steemit on May 29, I have NOT taken a single day off. That’s right folks – to achieve success and greatness on Steemit, you can’t take any days off. Moreover, it’s especially encouraging when you get comments like these from one of the most hard-working and successful Steemians:
Talk to everyone – comments are your best friend!
Don’t wrap yourself in bubble wrap and resign yourself to simply publishing blog posts without interacting with any of your fellow Steemians. First of all, you’re not going to get any new followers that way. And if you can’t get others to read and follow your posts, you won’t get any helpful comments nor too many up-votes. Remember Steemit is more than just a social media site – it’s a community! So you must go out there and interact with your fellow compatriots – you’ll learn more than you could possibly imagine from the most successful Steemians as well as gain a nice fan following that will welcome each of your posts with open arms! Plus, if you concentrate on producing high-quality and helpful comments, the author rewards aren’t too bad either.
Don’t pay attention to the number below your post – always keep an eye on the number next to your name
When you first start out creating new blog posts and writing useful, thought-provoking comments, don’t pay any attention to the amount of money you’re initially making. The money DOES NOT matter at all when you’re still a newbie to Steemit. Instead, keep an eye on that little number in parentheses next to your username – your reputation score. That is the single most important number you should work on as you continue to create high-quality content on Steemit. The more you participate through blog posts and great comments with your fellow minnows, dolphins and whales, the faster you’ll climb in Reputation Score and the more you'll get noticed across the community!
On the flip side, if you’re doing naughty things like plagiarizing, promoting hate speech or in general just being a douche, you’ll get cleaned up so fast by Steemcleaners and Cheetah that your reputation score will be blown to smithereens, down to even single digits. So watch your reputation!
Stay original and use plenty of cool and relevant photos!
To make your posts more readable and always very aesthetically pleasing, you have to incorporate enough photos into every post to separate huge blocks of text and amplify the information you’re trying to convey to your readers. But please bear in mind, these photos must be relevant to what you’re discussing! You can’t be tossing in random dank memes unless they have some relevance to your post. However, I’m not opposed to using funny gifs and memes that are both relevant to your post and help lighten the mood when discussing a particularly serious topic. Just remember that whenever you take your photos and gifs from another website, always cite your sources!
ABC - Always be citing! Always be citing! Always be citing!!!
And in case you don’t want to cite, be original and take your own damn photos!
A HUGE Thank you to all of my followers and new Steemian friends!
Thank you immensely my Steemit family! I could never have gotten this far without your unyielding support and awesome comments and feedback. For all of my 350+ followers, I appreciate your support and rest assured, I’ll reward your loyalty with even more awesome, high-quality content in the weeks and months to come. And to all of the Steemians with whom I interact on a daily basis, whether in the comment sections of posts or in the Discord chat, you guys are truly inspiring and always motivate me to do my absolute best whenever I create a new post or write up a new comment. I can’t wait to meet most of you (if not all of you) at SteemFest!
What do I have planned for next month?
June 29th will officially mark the completion of my first month on Steemit. Since this has been a truly remarkable and successful month on Steemit, let me share with you all a new project that I’ll be working on this month….
As early as this week, I will be starting a new fictional series with my friend @deveerei. He will be creating the illustrations and I will be writing each chapter of our brand new series every single day until we finish the series later this month.
Also, since the story will revolve around a journey to a Latin American country, I’m also thinking of translating and posting each chapter in Spanish. I’m hoping for a successful bilingual story and look forward to your comments and suggestions every day. So get pumped and get ready because this is going to be EPIC!

Inspiring, Great to see you hard work paying off. Steem on.
Thanks @joshbar. Just taking it one day at a time and staying consistent with posting and commenting. And as always, STEEMING on!

Awesome month Ace. What tool did you use to show the ranks and stats, I'm curious to see mine. I'm gonna be a month old here too. Thank you for trusting me to do your series' illustrations, I will do my best! Congratulations on your first month!
I use steemwhales.com to display ranks and steem.supply to find out my author rewards from posts and comments. Feel free to check them daily and use them when you write your own recap of your first month on Steemit.
Thanks again deveerei. I'm looking forward to an exciting series, which will be even more awesome and amazing with your illustrations. Glad to have you on board partner!
This collab will be awesome.
I've been using steem.supply (even made a blog post). Thanks for sharing those links!
It will be absolutely EPIC! Can't wait for tomorrow (or later today really)!
No problem, if I come across more useful Steem tools, I'll certainly pass those on too!
Thanks. I'm planning to do an ultimate guide for minnows, i'll make it real good and long (hopefully it won't bore people), once I have more time.
Awesome that's a fantastic idea, especially since we're getting more and more people flooding in from other social media sites every single day!
The more informative and useful it is, it won't matter as much how long it is - it can be like the ultimate Steemit guide for all newcomers, complete with helpful statistics and of course with all of your amazing artwork!
Exciting times in Steemit land - makes it even more worthwhile to work alongside talented people like you. STEEM ON brother!
I'm planning to add my own instructions as well as consolidate other tutorials in a manner that's easy to the eyes and fun, like what i did last time (here).
I have like 10 or more people bugging me at work cause they got into steemit cause of me. I made some basic tutorial list for them which resulted to the post linked above.
@cerebralace Would say you have done really well for your first month. This is a good solid post, your insights are going to be helpful for me in the coming weeks and months. I have only been on here a few days and I am already addicted. I can't wait to see what the coming weeks and months have in store.
Good luck for the future mate.
Thank you very much @munchell. I must say judging by your Reputation Score, you have done amazing for your first few days here on Steemit! My hat's are off to you my friend!
Very excited for the future of Steemit as well - looking forward to many good times to come as we get closer to SteemFest in November.
Good luck on your Steemit journey and feel free to stay in touch!
@cerebralace I think I may have gotten lucky with my first post. Now I have written some more, I am hoping people will get to know me and hopefully they enjoy what I write.
Will definitely keep in touch, people are so friendly here. It is a very different ecosystem to the usual trolls you get on other platforms.
As long as you continue to consistently create high-quality and useful content, everyone will appreciate your work here and you will gain a deep fan following in no time!
The community we have here on Steemit is simply amazing - always very positive, appreciative, open and welcoming to everyone who joins. Welcome mate, I will follow your work closely!
