Growing up is hard... Especially when it comes to taking responsibility for your money.
You know you should do something about your finances, especially now that you're not receiving any interest for your savings in the bank anymore.
But you don't know what.
And you don't know how.
And the word investment sounds kind of scary, because - How are you supposed to know what's the right thing to invest in? Nobody has a crystal ball.
What if you make a wrong choice and lose the little money you had in the first place?
And what's all this latest hype about this digital money thing - should you get in on that, too? Is that even real money?
So.. what are you to do as a complete outsider, who would actually prefer NOT to have to think about money at all?
Join Steemit.com
If you are absolutely new to financial investments, don't jump from "completely clueless" to investing in the "Wild West" of the new economy. It's dangerous and you're money could die out there!
Instead, do something that you know how to do - e.g. writing, blogging, journaling, sharing photos, drawings or video clips - and earn crypto currency for it on Steemit.
Opening an account and publishing your first content is a piece of cake.
Find and follow me there (@connecteconomy) and say Hi by commenting on one of my posts. Maybe this one. It will be nice to know that you found my article and were inspired to take action.
Post your own first article or just read, upvote and comment on others. You will receive minor rewards even just for that!
Once you'll see cents and dollars accumulating under your posts and in your account, you'll be motivated to publish more and learn more.
You'll wonder where all that money actually comes from. How is it generated? Who pays you for your content?
You'll wonder why your account value changes slightly every day.
You'll wonder how to get the money out and use it to pay for something "in the real world".
Luckily you can learn all that right there on Steemit, in other people's posts.
You'll find out about Bitcoin and wallets and exchanges. You'll stare at the price of Bitcoin in disbelief and think "That's for just one??"
You'll be regretting that you didn't take Bitcoin seriously the first time you heard about it - two or three years ago.
You'll wonder how this whole parallel world has been existing without your knowledge all this time.
You'll keep asking yourself, "Why doesn't Everybody know about this??"
Then it dawns on you what will happen to the price of Steem and Bitcoin once Everybody actually will find out about this and wants a piece of the cake, too.
And even though you feel like you're one or two years behind, it's also very obvious that you are an early adopter compared to the rest of the world!
You begin to feel like you're sitting on a gold mine. You chuckle about this thought because you realize that this - quite literally - is a gold mine.
You contemplate if it might be better to leave the money where it is instead of spending it. Why take it out if it will keep rising in value? You decide that would be a much better choice.
You feel all grown up as you realize you have just made your first conscious financial investment. And it didn't cost you a cent.
With all this new knowledge, you feel confident to buy your first Bitcoin. Or a fraction of one. (Or Dash. The author is biased and very pro Dash.)
You understand the price will always move up and down, and you will try NOT to panic when it goes down temporarily.
Of course you will do the occasional FOMO buy, but you'll forgive yourself fast and book it under "education". Plus, you're safe, because you're smart and only ever invest an amount that you can afford to lose. Maybe you will invest only what you earned on Steemit.
You've grown into an investor. And you did it all by yourself. Congratulations!
You feel like you're living in the future.
You feel like a pioneer.
And even though you have forgotten where you first heard about Steemit, you're so grateful you did. You had no idea back then, how it would change your life.
Now that you're not a newbie anymore, you want to get the word out.
The whole world should know about this!
Especially all your friends - you want them to do well financially, as well!
So you decide to become a teacher and guide for others. Because not only do you want your friends to receive "free money", too, but your investor's mind realizes that bringing your friends on board would be an investment in your own investment.
The more people join, the more valuable Steemit will become. You would benefit from a price increase of your Steem holdings, and so would everyone else on Steemit.
For a moment you want to cry as you realize what a bringer of abundance, equality and fairness the blockchain truly is.
You send a silent Thank You to Satoshi Nakamoto and Dan Larimer (@dantheman) for gifting us this magic.
And then you do your part.
You begin by writing about your journey on Steemit, and then you share this article all over Facebook and all the other social media channels, that now feel sooo old-paradigm!
