RE: Stop Making Steemit All About the Money, It Won't Work - And Other Ranting About What Sucks About Steemit

I think you make some good points about needing to mainstream the UX. In that vein, I'd love to see SteemIt have password changing capabilities without the user having to use the CLI. I know it's not hard to use, but it is a barrier to entry for the vast majority of social media users. As frequently as users have password issues and require them to be reset, the fact that this simple option is missing from the website is disturbing. Every social media site has the ability for the user to easily change their password within the security settings. Every social media site, save SteemIt.

How many of them are tied to wallets with the remotest level of security?

Online banking sites (which are not social media sites) are tied to wallets with some level of security (including 2FA). Industry standards for UX include GUI options for users to change passwords and other settings. If the banking industry had required users to use a banking CLI, then online banking wouldn't have taken off. Regardless of how "easy" devs think using the CLI is, the truth of the matter is that the majority of users are GUI users.
