Predict the future is impossible. However, it can get an idea of what will bring doing a thorough analysis of the society. When we talk about social media that you can make a fairly successful forecast, follow a more or less predictable pattern and, in addition, we have heard some technological advances that, although they are not expanding, it will be soon.
It should take into account can always produce a turning point which has not been foreseen and that totally changes our assumptions.
We will discuss the future of social networks according to the following points:
Video
The first thing we want to point out is that in the future the video will have even more importance on social networks than it does today. In fact, many analysts say that companies like Snapchat or Periscope have long journey ahead, especially if we take into account that they are linked to the most popular networks.
Virtual reality
Virtual reality will be protagonist in the very near future, but will influence how this type of technology on social networks? Because it is not entirely clear, but already technology using glasses exists which allows interaction with other humans in virtual environments.
Specialized social networks
Apparently, the future also predicts us growth of social networks of specific subjects, which are intended to unite people with the same tastes, interests and needs. Indeed, all indications are that the networks will begin to use more open formats to reach a greater number of people and, more importantly, to users like us. And not only this, but that we also deal with companies who will use this information to offer products and services in a personalized way, something that has already begun to do.
A social network that encompasses all the tools
Today we can find many social networks, each focused on a specific aspect (videos, photos, thoughts, streamings...), but it could be that in the very near future we will find a platform that includes all these tools for make it even easier for all users.
Social networking and privacy
Social networks that allow a greater privacy and anonymity will much relevance in the future. If they wish, users can use them without a trace.
