Hello Steemits.
In Nigeria, rice is a staple food, considered important in any event (an event without 'party jollof rice' ? Seriously?).
But recently, the price of rice have doubled and the portion served at events have reduced.
Why has the price gone up? The borders have been partially closed and production within the country is still at infancy. Yet the borders remain partly closed.
Should the government care? Yes. Do they care? Hard to say. Should every party loving 'owambe' Nigerian care? Definitely. Unless you want to be served beans or noodles at your next party, you should care.
What's to be done.
