I've bought my first bitcoins and steemit is to blame/ allowed to take all the credit.
I've thought of getting involved with cryptocurrencies before, setting up my pc to mine bitcoin using my gpu, but i'd already missed the boat. By that time ASIC mining was the status quo and I was left disillusioned and decided that bitcoin wasn't for me. I didn't see it as an investment, I didn't understand it, my knowledge of it was as much as most of the worlds population, very little.
That's where steemit has really got myself and probably a lot of you guys and girls that had never thought about investing into cryptocurrencies before. By giving out rewards for, the most part, people just sharing what they care about, like they do on other social media sites, but providing the power of curation into the hands of the people. To provide articles have to be well thought out and written to be rewarded by the community. Steem power is a must for anyone who believes in this platform and wish to take this wild ride all the way to whatever way it goes, either belly up or all the way up to the bitcoin promised land.
So for anybody who wants to get more invested in steemit and help improve it's curation teething problems and help it flourish, start getting involved in buying bitcoins and trade them for steem while you still can.
Feel free everybody to share your story of how you got into cryptocurrencies, whether it was inspired by steemit or not and how you have or are planning to buy into the amazing idea, or maybe how you are looking to cash out and walk away.
I myself plan to stick away for the long haul, tapping away at articles and trying to provide as much insight and happiness with them as possible.
Welcome to crypto!!!
