It has been a few days since HF20 has been introduced on Steemit, and I've noticed that the latest fork has been creating some serious tension on this platform. Today, I would like to share my experience so far and would also like to know what your views are on HF20. |
---|
INTRODUCTION
It has also come to my attention that the latest update (HF20) has been announced to be a big success right away. And to my surprise, I couldn't even post a single comment. Also, that huge unfortunate screen popping up, explaining that I run out of RC (Resource Credit). I quickly learned, that Im not the only one having similar issues.
Right now things seem to be back to "normal". Personally, I cannot find any other change on Steemit except of the mentioned implemented RC. I expected "communities" to be introduced but this didn't happend. Or perhaps I've missed something?
SHARE YOUR OPINION
I had a chance to read several posts related to HF20 and spoke with few people about this update, just to realize how much frustration it has caused between Steemit users. I would like to know what your current experience is with this platform at the moment. Did HF20 affect you? What do you think about latest changes?
I'm wondering if new users, with no Steem Power are heavily affected by the current limitations? Im also trying to figure out how many of those who I keep in touch with will abandon Steemit because they are tired of those changes. I’ve so far come across a few users who decided to "take a break" from the platform and perhaps they will never come back.
What's your opinion? How do you see HF20 and its latest update? Did anything else changed on Steemit or did they only add RC?
MY OBSERVATION SO FAR
So far I believe that introducing RC (resource credit) can reduce the amount of spam by a little bit and is forcing bot owners to power up (so spam could continue). At the end of the day each activity (upvotes/comments/posting and even sending memo) costs us some resources and those are very limited. Bot's with no Steem Power (SP) will pretty much be useless. So the amount of spam should be less, which is definetly a good thing.
Im still not impressed with the fact that regular users may not even understand what RC is about and there is literally no place on the platform to manage/view your current level of RC. The only way is to use other sites like http://steemd.com/ to verify your current resources level. That's just wrong on so many levels. How are new Steemit users supposed to know about it?
Not to mention, that this screen explaining that I run out of RC, as well as the need to purchase Steem Power in order to continue ... imagine reading it once you're a new user. Or reading it while you're testing some new platform. Wouldn't you right away click the "close" button with a bitter taste in your mouth?
There are number of things that could have been done better. My impression is that the Steemit developers took care of technical issues and perhaps they made this platform a better place, with very little spam. Perhaps. What I know is that they seem to completly forget about "user experience" which is only getting worse.
Will Steemit turn into a ghost town? I honestly think it will. But perhaps Im wrong.
Please share your opinion with me. I would mostly like to know how HF20 affected each one of you and if you will still be around or if you’re giving up on Steemit?
WHAT IS RC AND Voting MANA?
I've found this explanation very well written by @honarparvar which I totally recommend checking out: https://steemit.com/steem/@honarparvar/voting-mana-and-rc-confusions
HIDE RESTEEMS
I also just noticed a new feature a moment ago. When you open anyones blog on Steemit you will see “HIDE RESTEEMS/Show all” button. I wonder what to think about this solution. The good thing is that as a default, this setting is showing all posts (including resteemed). I hope it will stay that way. Otherwise resteeming posts will soon not make much sense.
SUPPORT @danielwrites
Allow me to write this small recommendation:
Good friend of mine @danielwrites published his own review about NOIA Network project. Daniel is one of the most supportive Steemit users I've met so far and he is passionate about crypto and blockchain technology.
Check out his latest post and show your support. Drop some interesting comment and resteem if you have a chance:

Hello my friend!
I have mixed feelings of the new HF. In some ways it was just an awful PR nightmare and in other ways it shows what the strengths and weaknesses are here. One of the biggest weaknesses I saw was just a sheer abysmal testing and vetting of the data before forking the platform. One of the biggest, most important things a developer does is run a mirror image test platform! It may be difficult to do to full scale but they can at least create one with a good representation of users with varying degrees of power, reputation and the like. This was obviously not the case in these developers minds.
The fork also highlighted how few people were truly involved in the process. As users we typically think that all of the witnesses have a say. I think a lot of people thought the same but alas it is not the case. Who truly has a say? I’m not sure but the witnesses that are the biggest stakes are the top 20 folks. This information led me to do what some others have done and changed our witness votes. I originally voted for several of the top 20 witnesses. I have since removed all votes from them and instead voted for witnesses in the bottom 100 until I ran out of votes. These new people are the future of the platform; some newer witnesses like @fulltimegeek are racing to the top 50; he started his node a week ago I think and he’s already at 70 last I checked because he engages with the community, he’s smart and is willing to work.
The benefits of the fork are that it cleaned up a lot of those obnoxious bots yes but it also connected more people on messaging platforms. We are all part of unique little communities here on Steemit and most of us talk only here. Since we couldn’t comment but once a day or so that comment was often used to complain and drop info for discord or telegram for us to connect offline. It would be a big loss for us here if folks like yourself stopped using the platform. It also is paving the way for future innovations here on the platform such as SMT’s which I know next to nothing about but most are excited about them. Lastly as I eluded to earlier it has led new people to dip their feet into the waters of becoming a witness. Since the fork I have seen 3 fresh witness nodes go online because people want to become more apart of the process and hope to help the platform avoid another awful failure that we just recently went through.
My opinion: this place has its troubles for sure, you can get caught up in the riff raff of negativity if you want but this place has much more to offer than others do. We have excellent communities here that other platforms don’t; we can make a little bit of money doing this and we can’t forget what drew so many of us here in the first place: to learn about the technology of the future that is blockchain. I will ride this out; I am comfortable with my position and am gaining friends, learning about all kinds of stuff daily and I earn a little bit of crypto in the process. Pretty good deal if you ask me!
Cheers.
I am viewing from the other POV. I'm very much involved in the Chinese community, helping them to grow the community since I mostly blog in Chinese. What I noticed during this fork is, idiots who are so selfish that they've delegated 95% of their SP for the bots to collect profit, and they rather suffered with low RC. Hence, do we still support this kind of people? So far I have seen problem, but these problem exist due to users action.
Posted using Partiko Android
Yes that's a waste of resources in my opinion! I dislike bots very much but they can do what they want if we want to make the platform inviting for everyone.
hi @davidke20
Those kind of people surely we should not support.
But what about those who actually delegate SP to others? I'm not the only one who used to delegate almost all my SP to several bloggers, trying to help them build exposure. HF kind of forced me to cancel all those delegations.
Of course I understand that there is no "golden solution" to this problem. Just sayin`
My biggest concern regarding RC is the fact, that new users may not even know what RC is and how to check it.

Piotr
Not here for the money, but the rewards don't hurt :-D!
I am not here strictly for the money but it makes it easier to stick with it when there is some incentive behind it. I am here to learn what I can about the technological future. I was not expecting to be involved with great communities that are here. Since I've discovered these communities it has further cemented my place here.
I love to see how responsive you are @cmplxty
Steemit need more people like you buddy :)
enjoy your weekend

Great to hear from you @hotsauceislethal :)
Indeed rewards do not hurt :D
Yours, Piotr
Hi @cmplxty
This is like the best comment ever. I appreciate your time and big thx for sharing your view with all of us.
I see that we're pretty much on the same page with our experiences regarding HF20.
Always great to hear such a words. Thx :) Vice versa my friend.
Im not very familiar with witness program. Would you mind telling me what's their responsibilities and benefits? What do they do and how are they rewarder? any idea?
Yours
Piotr
The witness role is to run the blockchain here. The top 20 witnesses get paid 7000 Steem per month for their role. These 20 witnesses also validate the most blocks that are produced. The other witnesses get less blocks but still validate some, the number I don’t know.
When we do a fork like we just did the majority of the witnesses need to also update their version to ensure continuity. If 15 witnesses update their node but 5 don’t then that creates a problem and a separate chain gets created. I don’t know if you’ve seen the ethereum split; there is now Ethereum and Ethereum classic. This is because they tried to fork but a bunch of people said no so it divides the chain.
The new witnesses get to add their node to the chain to ensure continuity but also learn more about the programming. What I’ve heard is the scripting here is not intuitive at all and difficult for developers to get used to. I don’t script so I can’t say if that’s true or not but the more people that add a witness node the better. The top 20 witnesses have mostly been there for so long that lots of the users who voted for them have probably quit so they aren’t necessarily the best to run it, they are just staying there by default almost. This is why I’ve removed my vote for the top 30 witnesses and voted for those I know or are in the bottom 70-100. The new witnesses are who are going to improve this place in my opinion, not necessarily the current top 20.
Thank you @cmplxty for another amazing and valuable comment.
I appreciate your never ending support a lot. I mean it.
Yours, Piotr

Up before 🌄 (here) and, with the limited time I have, investing it in reading your post @crypto.piotr.
While a relative “newbie” on the Steem blockchain and even being online at all, I am definitely not a “newbie” at life. So …
In response to your request for input into the affect of HF20 on your fellow Steemians, here is the post I wrote about exactly that – Entry for the Pay-it-Forward Curation Contest - Week 26 ... then Boom! ... HF20 ….
While under no illusions about those “high over our heads” reading it, I nonetheless chose to have it “immutably enshrined in the blockchain” as, if you will, my “stake in the ground,” for future reference.
While still “in here,” for the time being, and continuing to support the community (@pifc) of my choosing, a major “withdrawal from the goodwill bank account” was made, for this Steemian.
As an investor first and everything else second, I sincerely hope a major “lesson learned” opportunity is not missed.
For the sake of us all, I hope a serious effort at “continuous improvement” is currently underway at SteemIt Inc. As well as with the highest ranking Steem Witnesses.
And that, as a direct result of it, "the rest of us" do not experience a disruption anything like that of HF20 again …
hi @roleerob
Thank you for your amazing comment. I also just had a chance to read your post "Chapter Two: My "Journey" and the Pay It Forward Community" and Im impressed by amount of effort you put to make Steemit a better place.
This platform needs more people like yourself.

Up before 🌄 (here) and finding your comments @crypto.piotr. They are certainly encouraging to me. Glad to learn they have been deemed to be of some benefit in adding value to your post.
Yes, well, thank you kindly. You can count on me doing my small part, in the time I have available. We are (hopefully) all working together to add value to our Steem blockchain, so if it appears to be a "win" for you, it is certainly a "win" for me.
Have a great (mon)day! 😉 👍
Thank you for being so responsive @roleerob
Appreciate, Piotr
Oh! Your most recent post was about the HF. Yes I'll put more thoughts here then.
My 2c. cheers!
I appreciate your amazing feedback @eonwarped
News of Steem's demise are highly exaggerated....! Yes there have been issues, but as some have stated already, spam has been reduced, which is not for the worst. And i like the narrative that it is more and more about specific dapps for very specific topics, which has just starte d growing....
Thank you @conceptskip for your comment and never ending support :)
Trully yours, Piotr
I got forked hard by the hardfork in the first place and I am still yet to recover. The technicalities involved are quite too complex, not only for new users even for old users who have no technical experience to digest the complexity well.
Most of the issues of the upgrade would yes discourage new users, even before the upgrade a new user would have to keep asking questions and seeing video tutorials to know what is up on here but with these whole stuffs, that is tripled for them and I do not think that is good for the sustainance of the users and the site.
@crypto.poitr, you see, in life, humans as integrative as we naturally be love friendliness as against hostility thus we can change habitat consciously or unconsciously to get that. Now, steemit is making its habitat, which they supposed decentralised centralised with the HF20 by imposing such complex change without prior education, hostile and might begin to lose fame into naught when another platform much more friendly arises. Even now there is Weku. It would just be like the birth of gmail sinking yahoomail or facebook sinking all other social networks before it to the top.
The whole idea has merits and demerits, to me, the demerits are way too many than the merits.
Steemit owners have got to watchout as competitors are watching out on them to leverage on their mistakes and boom they show up and poof, steemit might go down.
Tomorrow shall tell better of steemit, hopefully.
@jodekss
hi @jodekss
BIG thx for such an amazing comment.
That's exacly how i see it too :(
Hopefully. Indeed.

i would say that hf20 was targetted at cleaning the platform of bots and unwanted activities, without putting cognisance of the fact that newbies would need to survive in this ecosystem, i was believing in decentralization and how that the system is upgraded bvased on majority agreeement, now i understand it actually means, majority of witnesses agreement of what steeminc decides, we are all here and we will just have to adapt
Cheers
Thanks for your constant support and another great comment @iamchijamz
enjoy your weekend my friend
Piotr
I think you should understand that HF20 has just been implemented and it gives room for developers to create more of the needed functions. I am using a chrome extension by @archange and it show details of RC, VP etc. Check out this post
I would say this RC feature will affect and discourage new users and as well reduce spam but I'll rather prefer as it adds value to the platform.
I will not say how you got to know about the word "ghost town" but I will say Steemit will be far from looking like a ghost platform.
Thanks for the recommendation post!
I low the hide resteem feature and I think it is better this way. So many times, I tried checking some posts by some users I wonder if they are resteem bots. The stress of scrolling down through many resteem posts is just insane!
I have resteemed this post and that of @danielwrites
Ps. I have read your message on telegram but I planned to reply with a link and that would be today.
Take care, @ajongcrypto
Thanks @ajongcrypto for your comment.
That actually make sense if you put it this way.
And vice versa. Thx for your recommendations! :)
Going to check telegram now! :) Yours, Piotr
So far so good. Things have improved. VM has been switched back to VP. The same amount of vote will cause more RC usage. Vote seller also need to take care of their breakdown of their partial vote ratio in order to preserve RC.
Meanwhile, resteem has become more efficient, or lose its purpose due to resteembots. Even resteem cost RC, follow cost RC. Best part is, create account become more expansive and delegation has been burnt off during account creation. I created two accounts yesterday and it costs me about 4SBD an account and it only came back 0.6steem worth of value for each account. So in a way, it should stop spam resteem, spam follow due to low RC.
Spam vote has been totally off the grid. Can't say this is good thing, but having removed spam vote meaning reward pool retention bigger, and real author and real voter will worth the real value. Sad to say that, small account lose their voice at all.
Overall, there's no good nor bad. Things had to changed, and we as a user will have to adapt, evolve, and be ready for the future. Take an old saying, the only constant that exist in the world is - change.
Posted using Partiko Android
Well said! I agree that people need to adapt. Those who can’t handle change get left behind.
Thank you for such an amazing comment @davidke20
Im still wondering how HF20 will affect those who have not powered up and their SP is close to zero.
I've lost you here. Why would they lose their voice at all? Im very curious.
Yours
Piotr
It's being adjusted. Even 0sp are allowed to make 3 comments in five days. Having said that, an account creation now will burn with Steem. I tried to create one a few days ago, it costs me 4SBD, after burn off it left 0.617steem in the account. Had the new user decided to withdraw, seriously he/she is not into the platform. Or power it up and make another upvote. In a way, it's good to prevent people from abusing delegations.
3 comments. Meaning that if they make a post, they had to literally rest 3 days before they reply a comment. If they do, they need to rest another 5 days to make another post. So, if this is not losing their voice, I don't know what is.
Posted using Partiko Android
Big thx for this comment. Appreciate it.
One question @davidke20.
Does creating account burn STEEM? So far I knew that STEEM is being burned only once you choose to promote some post. But it seem that noone uses that feature.
Burning STEEM would shorten a supply on the market, which could help to maintain stable price.
Exactly. I created two accounts few days ago. The cost is about 4SBD. After burning it left with 0.6steem in the new account. So, in a way yes it become more expansive and of course more responsible for people who ask for an account.
Posted using Partiko Android
Is creating free accounts also possible? Or is it possible to pay with anything but crypto?
Yes, can still create free account via the sign up facilities. Free is free because someone already paid for it(namely the witnesses) without our knowledge.
Posted using Partiko Android
I don't know if it is because of the changes but I have noticed that I used to get new followers, only a few possibly each day but now no-one, nadda. Also any comments I make, never any up-votes. And at one point I'm sure my blog was worth about $18.00 and now it is at about $7.00 and I think that is because Steemit stopped paying for less than a certain amount of up votes. Plus in the tag section, when I hit say the steemit tag, there's posts from every other tag, for instance photography, food, art. That's frustrating if you are really looking for information/posts on Steemit. And I don't know how many posts I am allowed to write anymore.
I have already found somewhere else and will see how that goes, I'm not very impressed with Steemit, right now.
Thank you for your comment @inmepyjamies and for sharing your experience with me.
Yours, Piotr
If Steemit doesn't continue to improve their user experience then eventually they will fade away but for now it is a great incubator for new ideas and projects. Sure it isn't for everyone but it is still a very fascinating experiment in this new crypto scene.
I agree with you, there will always be room for improvements as bad users will always improve their strategies. I love the phrase "it isn't for everyone".
You're right @hotsauceislethal. Kind of.
What means "continue to improve" ? In case of Steemit there is no improvement happening at all. they should START thinking of user experience, because so far developers seem not to be bothered with it at all.
Thx for another comment buddy :)
Piotr
Like everyone, the immediate change over to HF20 found me with negative RCs. Things came to a grinding halt for that first day. Then there was a global setting to zero and after some regeneration time posting was do-able for me under moderation. Then as recharging continued things got better and better. The new system looks great to me.
Yet it still is a struggle for plankton. In an effort to help, 6 plankton on my follow list were chosen to delegate enough SPs to them so as to bring them up to 50SPs.
Please consider to help out plankton on your follow list as well. Once the dust settles you can reclaim you delegnation(s).
I appreciate your comment @novacadian
I will definetly consider helping some of my loyal followers with delegations.

I've noticed a large reduction in spam comments which is great. I'm still finding people abusing the system a little with spam posts etc.
I think, over time, we'll see people finding new ways to abuse the system such but it will be less prevalent overall.
There are still people out there who hold multiple accounts and have created little voting circles amongst their own accounts. That little problem won't ever go away.
Great post, follow for follow? Me luv you long time :-D
LOL jk
I vote u. Pls vote and follow me back. Oh wait, I haven't.🤣

I agree with you, new ways will definitely emerge.
Thanks for sharing your view @mazzle
I agree that there will be always people finding new ways to abuse the system. Well said.
From my little observation a lot o people have quit using bots, but i believe i steem price be on the rising side steemit can not be a ghost town.
It is nice not seeing those useless bots like magic 8 ball and haiku posting on everyone’s stuff.
Lol.. I'm telling you.. I'm just happy for the recent development.
@cmplxty @ozurumba
Im only worried that those with very little SP will have very limited access to services on Steemit. Yesterday my friend @danielwrites tried to drop several comments and he run out of RC super fast. I ended up helping with small delegation, but it seem that those with no SP will not be capable of using Steemit because limits are just to hardcore.
Yours
Piotr
I hope you're right @ozurumba
Thx for comment, Piotr
Yeah I've face too much hassle like cant comment and like sometimes and counting days to wait to settle down the issue

I also noticed that you didnt post in almost 2 weeks. Hope you didn't give up on Steemit. I know it's hard at the beginning to build solid follower base. But just don't give up. Steemits needs solid content builders.

Hey Piotr,
The HF20 may have good intentions and technicalities but what was silly was the implementation. How could you plan an implementation with the entire platform going Kaput for a week? It was just divine intervention that the price of Steem did not fall.
I was wondering and raised this point in different forums, both on and off Steemit, is whether a sandboxing was done before the actual implementation. I am not quite certain because just a few weeks before the HF20, the platform was off for a while. That again was for the HF20 implementation. So, no learning from past mistakes, I guess.
That said, the only visible change, like you pointed out, is the "Hide Resteem" function. This would be helpful when you have to quickly check your own old article and save yourself the time of going through resteems and your articles. The other advantage, of course, is for people who want to participate in some competition and one of the requirement is to resteem the post. So, while they do the resteem, they can hide it from their main page. Works in such conditions.
hi @oivas
Thank you for your amazing feedback. Appreciate it a lot.
hahaha I love the way you described it.
Cheers, Piotr
Hahhahah, that was just emotions flowing Piotr. Was paying little attention to the language I was using - German or English.
Well, just one more thing I noticed. If keeping my Voting Power at 0.01, I can vote till 80% of my VP, after which the VP goes below 0.01. However, regenerating 100% from 80% takes way more time than reaching 100% from (say) 90%. In other words, the closer the regeneration from 100% the faster it is and conversely, the farther from 100% to recharge, the more time it takes... I haven't noticed anyone reporting this as an issue, so I presume its only my experience then.
interesting ....
I had to re-read it @oivas to fully understand what you ment. do you still have similar impression about regenerating RC?
Guess what @crypto.piotr, even I had to read a few times more... Lol.. I think it has to do with the speed of regeneration if you go on a voting spree. So, calls for users to be responsible in voting and not just spam with votes, even if the votes are worth nothing.
Then again, I am not sure if this the intended function of the HF20 or just an aberration of an experience on my part. I haven't voted below 90% anytime after that, so not sure. Maybe, if I do get into a voting spree I will check if I have the same experience.
As any change brings found positions, many are in favor and others against, I think that like everything in life, those who want to stay have to adapt to survive and prevail, without a doubt that for those who have 30 SP or less, limit them quite since they can not comment many times a day, some support this so that in one way or another people who enter steemit must invest some money so they are not limited, I think that with 50 SP you already have enough RC to have a normal life in steemit, this can also encourage people who invite friends to join the platform to delegate some SP to that friend so that they can have enough RC and not be limited when voting and commenting.
Nice to say hello, friend
bye
hi @hendersonp
Good to know that.
Thx for your amazing feedback buddy

Hello how are you, the best thing about this H20 that nobody comments is that our votes are worth more, regards
Thank you for being so responsive @hendersonp
Steemit indeed needs more people like you.
Appreciate, Piotr
Just noticed the "hide resteems" :)
I would prefer a stand alone resteem tab, but this does make the platform more useful. Also, it is a very quick action (no lag time)- that's good.
Steemit is notorious for slow fixes. I expect nothing less from HF20.
I actually started using this "hide resteems" straight away :)
Thx for comment and resteeming @machnbirdsparo
ps. I've noticed that you didn't publish anything in over a month. Did you give up on Steemit? I hope you can post something every few weeks, just to make sure that your account doesn't look dead :)

Piotr
Still here:) Still replying on most days. New content coming soon. Been involved in some other blockchain stuff.
Not to say much on this topic, as I don't study it well But, yes I'm definitely sure that it will be very useful in coming months😊😊 @crypto.piotr
Thank you @freecrypto for your comment and never ending support :)

Thanks for your support too😊😊
It was good for the future of Steemit, but not good short term. Activity went down, price also was dragged down a bit and also the exchanges are down for almost a month now. I could use like Bittrex since a few days, but I don't have an account there and don't want to get verified. Gonna wait for Binance and hope they open up soon.
Thank you for your feedback @bumshak
Appreciate. Piotr
Dear Mr. @crypto.piotr glad to see you again on steemit.
I got the bad experience when HF 20 start launch. Yeaah.. my RC and my VM. I think it's just happened at me but No. For few days I can't make my post, vote, comments and resteem.
But I know HF 20 will make us as steemian get better again.
Thank you for sharing with us

@crypto.piotr... The hardfork seems to be okay as it reduces spams and comment.
But the sad fact about this is that as minnows trying to earn and gain more recognition on Steemit, one of the best ways of achieving this is by making comment.
We are now very careful when it comes to commenting because we don't want to waste our RC.
Another thing is about the voting power, I noticed the percentage was just reducing after supporting other people's posts. I will just have to stay patient sometimes till it rises back to 100% to enable others benefit from it.
In conclusion, I think the Hardfork will be a great benefit to the whales or those with huge Sp than minnows like us.
Thanks for sharing this great post with love from @hardaeborla because I have actually learnt alot from your experience regarding the Hardfork.
Stay blessed and enjoy your day 😁💗🙌
Good morning @hardaeborla
Your comments are never dissapointing. Always long and rich :)
Thank you for sharing your experience with me.

You are highly welcome @crypto.piotr 😁💗🙌
Hi! some time from my last connection, just today I have the opportunity to reconnect and review steemit again. In fact, the problem with the fork in a way benefits me because I have my computer problem just in this days so "the lost" time is reduced. But, of course, it was a great loss to all those persons trying to post or vote and couldn't for the already known problems.
Also, I'm bothering you to ask for your opinion about digitex, have you already read about it? impressions? comments? please feel free to share them.
I'll Appreciate it.

Hey @piotr. In my own view, I will say steemers should try and understand how it works and adjust to it. The platform developer might have saw the use and need for it before introduction of HF20. And also if steemers are complaining bitterly then it should be removed or adjust it to our satisfaction because we the users are the once who keeps the platform running. My view come these way because I hardly come online this days to actually notice the effect.
I just want to drop something @priotr
Regard yours @Oniz
hi @abduloniz
Im glad to still see you around. I've noticed lately that you were not posting anything on Steemit for some time already :(
We're living in society suffering short attention span. If understanding how Steemit works would be difficult then most new users will give up right away. And now it is really not easy for new members to figure out how does this platform works and what RC is about.
Agree with you.
Thanks for sharing your view.
Yours, Piotr
Dear sir, I found your article very much informative. Sorry for the late reply. I also faced much problems in posting articles on Steemit. I also didn't know about resource credit. Many days I tried posting, but due to low RC error I can't able to publish them. That's why I took a break from Steemit.
Finally I read your article and now I came to know about the reason. HF20 is a good feature in removing spam.
Also one suggestion that, if we post a comment it will get included in the post count. I think that, there should be a separate button for comment count. So that post count gives only exact number of posts count and comments will not get included in it.
Once again thank you @crypto.piotr sir.
Im glad you've found my post informative @abhijeetcg
Thank you for your feedback and sharing your opinion with me. Appreciate.
Yours
Piotr
After a full year I finally reached 50, so I think this means I'm no longer a minnow, but my votes are still so minimal as to be inconsequential (less than $0.01, as far as I can tell). Anyway, I'm still posting, voting and commenting as before. There is very little change I can notice, and that's OK. I'm a very patient person.
Thank you for your comment @wentong-syhhae
Appreciate. Yours, Piotr
Yeah that would be pretty frustrating for new users if suddenly they are being told they have to buy more SP. and like you said if they can't look anywhere and see what their RC is or what it even is could be confusing and just leave them with the feeling that the platform doesn't work.
hi @brianphobos
Thank you for your comment. I've noticed that you rescued cat lately. Did you keep him/her? :)
Yours
Piotr
My sister is still taking care of them. We are trying to convince my mom to take care of them but she is trying to say that one cat is enough for her.
@brianphobos, respect to all of you guys
It has definitely been different
I can only make 1 or 2 comments

That sucks not sure when it will get better for the new guys!!!
I will remain here regardless
I appreciate the freedom of speech and expression
So tired of the Nanny state and PC movement

Sorry I got off topic
Great post and I look forward to more

I appreciate your comment @benfreed
Can you still only make that many comments right now? That's really very little :/
Cheers, Piotr
HF20 didn't really affect me. But I believe that the steemit team has what's best in mind for the project. If the fork hadn't been buggy, we would have flowed seamlessly into what the platform is now, reduced spam and increased rewards.
Hi @ced000. Thanks for sharing your experience after HF20.
I appreciate.
@crypto.piotr
As for my experience so far about the recent HF20, at first i wasn't able to post my articles on the platform for days due to a low RCs. It was very frustrating and made me feel like that's the end of everything, in fact, i had to use someone else's account with good Steem power to enter a contest.
However, i later found out the H20 is something that is really needed on a platform like this because it helps to reduce the rate of spamming, that's really great! Moreover, it helps anyone to set his/her priority right by ensuring quality posts are put at the top first before any other ones.
Thanks to the Hard fork 20 as it does more good than bad.
Yours, acheever.
Thank you @acheever for your amazing comment and never ending support. I appreciate it a lot.
I also believe that HF20 in a long term is a good thing. Just the way they introduced it was so very painful and frustrating.
Thx for sharing your view my friend,
Yours, Piotr
Yeah, at first it was terribly frustrating. I could remember I wrote an article and I couldn't post it 4dyas after, what I did was to use another person's account with little high SP. Anyways, I couldn't judge those behind that due to a saying that says "The ends justify the means"
i had exactly same experience. Luckily everything seem to be back to normal. I just wonder if there is really less spam than it used to be? Any idea?
Hi @crypto.piotr, these changes are a bit confusing even for me, so I wouldn't like to be on the newbies' place. Steemit is already very complex platform (I remember watching Steem Power explaining videos a the beginning) and I would expect upcoming updates to rather simplify this platform instead of adding complicated parameters. I understand that these changes are very important and needed, but I believe they may be implemented in a better way which will not discourage newbies.
I am completely agree with you. However, when someone intends to explore your content, he probably does not want to scroll through every post resteemed by you, so I think option of hiding is a great solution.
Thank you for great article and sharing your thoughts Piotr :)
Greetings, Jan
As always your comments are one of the best of the best of the very best @neavvy :)
Indeed being a newbie on Steemit must sucks.
Cheers, Piotr
hi........
i got to know you from my friend @amec
Congratulations in your ******
I don't think it will turn into a ghost town. HF20 was a necessary path. People forget its only two years old. Other front ends like @steempeak provide the information your looking for about manna.
The fact the so many people have complained so bitterly about being down for a couple of days shows you how many people have are actually attached to this whole idea.
Thank you for being so responsive @intrepidphotos
Steemit indeed needs more people like you.
Appreciate, Piotr
Steemit will get there; we just need to give it time.
Hello @crypto.piotr, I agree with what you present about the level of the changes that occurred. I think the changes focus mostly on solving very technical problems, the value of the SBD was corrected, some functions were improved, etc. However, at a visual level (what a new user would see), there is no great difference. I hope that Steemit does not become a ghost platform, it has had an unpredictable success in recent months, and I hope it attracts investors or creators of blockchain projects to keep the platform stable. One of the most promising changes I read, was about the customization of Tokens, but I do not have much information about it, I will look a little to find out if this function was finally implemented or not.
With respect to profiles, I consider many more changes are necessary, adding a filter / search engine in each profile would be interesting.
We still have to wait, and I hope the platform stabilizes and improves every day, very good post @cryto.piotr. Greetings
wow @aleestra. Another amazing comment. I love how responsive you are. Seriously I appreciate your time and effort @aleestra
Yours, Piotr
I used an account I haven't used for months after hf20, to see how it handled...(no sp hardly - like a new user)
I made one post and 3 comments, and couldn't do anything with my account again until my RC's powered up. I couldn't even edit my post!
I had to wait a day to do anything on steemit .
If I was new user, with a tiny account - I would have left there and then.
What kind of social media platform stops you from posting , commenting, and interracting?
It's BIZARRE.
Not a good model for increasing users, when you won't let new users, errrrrr... use the platform.

Thanks for your visit.
The HF20 is really affecting me, providing me with only 59 comment
59 comments a day? that's not so bad knowing that your SP is less than 50, isn't it?
59 comment not a day like a week. It is a bit bad, i can't reply to all those who comment on my post
Here is a post on how i feel about the HF20 update.
