So I'll admit when I started I didn't source all the content that I didn't create and I'm still wondering what the policy is on pictures and gifs. What pisses me off though is when an entire article is plagiarized! I just read an article on XRP and thought 'hey this is great' and gave the post an upvote... then I decided to check one paragraph in google and it's just about a word for word match. I was duped!
Actually I run across this quite a bit now that I try and find it or check a paragraph in google. So my new rule is before I upvote any post I'm going to check for plagiarism and flag. It's sad people are being lazy and stealing content to make maybe $1 on a post....
Good article man, I agree 100% with you. Plagarism and people upvoting each other without even reading/liking the content are the two worst things about steemit in my opinion. All that stuff just adds an element of "fakeness" to steemit. With my articles to come, I hope to find people that are genuinely interested, as I'm not just here for the money but for the community aspect and the desire for good conversation as well.
