Hi guys! It is quite concerning that some Crypto Exchange Platforms like Poloniex have stopped the process of direct deposits and withdrawal of Steem Dollars (SBD). This has led to several problems among Steem users like us, as we have to convert our SBD to BTC/ETH/XRP or other suitable crypto tokens and then only can we transfer something to/from these exchanges.
However, Steem is not the only one affected by these issues. Several other tokens have also faced the same fate and investors are stuck with frozen accounts.
These issues are leading to an excess pressure on the major cryptocurrencies (BTC, ETH) and their Blockchains are overloaded with a huge number of transactions. Every investor has to pay additional (transaction + conversion) fees, plus his transactions are getting delayed, leading to a large number of pending unconfirmed transactions in the Blockchain.
However, Poloniex operators have revealed a new speculation, stating that SBD was not having sufficient trade volumes in the past few weeks. But after sudden surge in the total traded volumes and capital turnover (SBD/BTC), they will look forward to enable the SBD Deposit/Withdrawal facility within a few days.
Thus, we can only hope that these issues are resolved and Steem Dollars start trading on every Exchange Platform as usual.
I've got several $k in sbd stuck in poloniex . Not at all happy about that.
