🌆 Incredible Evolution of NYC 🌆

in #steemit7 years ago (edited)

Greetings Fellow Steemians,

I always wanted to visit NY one day and explore this incredible city.  Its a no doubt that New York is one of the greatest cities of a modern world. with its huge concrete skyscrapers , yellow taxis, New yorkers and loads of more exciting stuff of course.....

It is very strange to imagine how New York looked before, I guess more of a like green farmland. The museum of New York has collected big amount of painting, drawings and photographs documenting the evolution of New York.

…rows of monotonous straight streets, and piles of erect buildings”  -  landscape architect Frederick Law Olmsted

.....

NY (Manhattan) landscape was even greener during american revolution times, with more rollin hills, more trees less cars, and other industrial stuff. Today this place is public and is called Bennet Park.

....

After first half of 19th century industrial revolution started, and it saw the beginnings of demolition and destroyng those green hills :( but for the sake of humankind progress, well thats what most people believe i guess :D:D

The photo above is showing the same place as the picture below :)

Tenement buildings began to be erected to house the city’s poor and the many immigrants who began pouring into the United States through Ellis Island.

Even nowadays the city is not even showing a single sign to stop growing, it has passed manhattan outer boroughs. “It’ll be a great place if they ever finish it.” - O. Henry I am always split in to two part, one part always tell me nature is very important and we are destroying it by industrial revolution. but my another me likes progress and thinks that if we do it right we will get whatever we want this technology and progress? so question is we need all this progress for more comfort, better survivability and to exist as much as humankind can. Thank you so much guys for reading my blog, I would appreciate a bit of feedback,(plz put in a comments) Resteem & Follow please if you like my blog, @dattabitcoin - A.K.A CryptoAstronaut
