Steemit that's clearly something wrong, let's talk about it.

Ok, my first actual post (the introduce yourself post doesn't count) will be a critic at the platform. A good one of course, one of those that help grow up, develop. I'm not a bad person, I swear.

EDITOR INTERFACE

Being a WordPress user, the first thing I noticed opening the post editor was the absence of an interface to customize the post. In its place i found the "Mastering Markdown" guide, but as much as I love to pretend to be an hacker this system is very inefficient. Especially the first times I had to go back and forth from the guide to understand how Markdown's syntax works (even if I have experience with this type of editors, each one differs for some particular). Furthermore this system makes reviewng the article a real pain, forcing to read between lines of code and actual test. So, what's my request? Please, add a text editor, I hate to write without the "justify" option.

DRAFTS

Second thing I noticed: the absence of real drafts. Cutting out the opportunity to save posts in a library of some sort brings a lot of problems, like the inability to work from different devices (yeah, I know that I could use something like Evernote but that would mean overcomplicate a simple thing). Another big flaw is the absence of the revision history, the tool that let you modify the article without worrying about loss of text portions.

FEATURED IMAGES

Premise: this is a false problem.
No matter how hard we try not to judge, we always end up doing it. This is why featured images exist: they are like the cover of a book or the cowl of a monk; they try to anticipate what you'll find inside the article. I noticed this "issue" right now, while I'm writing the post, I realized that there's no place to load a featured image. So what to do? This problem has an easy solution: just load the image you would use as featured one and place it at the top, you can also separate it from the text below typing "___" in an isolated line. I already said that this wasn't a problem after all, but again: having a dedicated tool to place the featured image would be a lot easier.

DON'T GET ME WRONG

I know that Steemit is a young platform, but for this reason it has a lot of room to improve, I'm here just to point it in the right direction (then i'll ascend into heaven and sit at the right hand of my father). Jokes aside, it's just because i trust in this platform that I'd love to see it grow and the post editor is where I think it should start; after all, along with Steem of course, it's the pillar on which the entire community is based.

I'm writing this in early 2018 if you are reading this from the distant future and they still didn't add these features, just know that you have my sympathy. I'm sorry for you.
