It never ceases to amaze me how much food those little dudes can stuff into their mouth at once, if we could do that we wouldn't need lunch boxes!

I would watch them for hours as they wiped out piles of food until it was gone and hoarded into their burrows. The challenges that ensued defending "territories" were comical at times, and not without serious battle scars....ears torn, tails shortened....you name it. The only time you see a group of chipmunks getting along is when they are babies , and that only lasts a few days to a week as they begin to explore their new surroundings and have to figure out where they will make their new homes. When moms kicked the kids out, it was serious business. Thanks for watching!

OMG! The chipmunk in the tree/bush eating! I love that the venue keeps changing but the hand motion and the chewing action are the only constant:)
That was a first seeing a chipmunk eating a leaf on a lilac shrub. I love being able to hang around with them.
