Confirmation that HOMELESS CHARITY FUNDS ARRIVE....My idea! Bitcoin QR code paper verification or similar.

This is a really wonderful thing Gavin you have done for Brook and his wife and introducing the idea to the Steemit community. The phone call is awesome.

I just hope the Steemit community can have their wits about them on future posts like these and thought it might be healthy to have a discussion. From what Ive witnessed over the past little while (introduce yourself)we are likely to see the con men get on this bandwagon big time. How do we police this people? The real question will be where does the money actually end up and how can we upvote with confidence. Maybe a fund receiving post after the event but preferably if it could be assured in the introductory post somehow.

My idea..

What if the homeless person (or organization leader) held up a paper bitcoin QR code address and acknowledgement that they understand BTC and have the private keys. After the process the author can show that the beneficiary has received the payment to that BTC address. I know this is not perfect, but I think soon people will loose faith in this kind of method. Once a member of the Steemit community does this a few times they will have a rep we can trust, and honor.

Would it be possible @dan @dantheman @ned to set up special charity posts/accounts option for users that lock the payments to a designated BTC address on when the post gets created? Then there is the issue of half being locked up in steempower for a while. Maybe the author can keep half as an incentive or the unique charity account (if created by developers) can address this problem somehow.

Well done Gavin Knight @brookdemar, legendary work on the idea. Such a good thing.

Cheers Mick.

Homeless people are a big problem in my city and I always try to give money but I feel like the best thing todo is just give them food to be honest.

Yes agreed, like Jason Kings www.Unsung.org . A great service being done.
