I'm an avid #PokemonGo player and I just so happen to watch a few awesome vloggers who make daily videos on youtube.... so I thought why aren't they on Steemit? They put enough effort into their craft and should be rewarded!
I have been playing Pokemon Go since beta last year and while the game has many pit falls and room for improvement, all in all its a very solid game and I usually play every single daily, it helps me get up and get outside and especially helps me remember that exercising is something I should be doing every single day. In order to perfect ones craft they must do research, and to keep my research simple I follow YouTube Vloggers such as Trainer Tips, Reversal, Mystic7 & JTGily, all are super fun to watch and not only produce good videos but also are very consistent which is key to any good content creator. I often thought to myself, man what if these guys knew about Steem, they would be not only killing it but bringing in thousands of new users that could also have a shot at becoming content creators and curators as well.... they treat their channels like full-time jobs afterall.. always high quality and full of effort. They deserve it..
But it turns out getting ahold of them is quite difficult to do, since so many people ping them daily, I come off as a salesman or something... so what to do?
You would think sending an email and/or simply pinging your favorite creators would be simple, but it turns out there are sometimes hundreds if not thousands of other people pinging them that very day and it's very hard to constantly keep up with these sorts of requests, especially with something as complex as Steemit... so not only was it difficult to get someones attention, explaining Steemit in under 150 characters and/or a sort of spam email seemed like a it was turning out to be a much more daunting task than I though...
Bingo; Time to stop playing games and throw up a serious offer.... before anymore thinking I quickly tweeted out my challenge, worst case scenario I am set back $300 for nothing, but i'll survive, lets do this!
After a few attempts of sending emails, tweeting folks and just playing Mr. Nice Guy, I decided I had one last shot left before I moved on to recruiting other users as obviously these guys had no interest in hearing me out.... what's left to lose? I earn a good chunk of Steem here each month and I thought it would be a good use of the Steem, even it all I did was donate it to one of these creators, I mean isn't that the purpose of Steem anyways?
So I decided I would put my money where my mouth is and atleast throw out a sort of dare...
And then, the magic begun!
Anywho, two out of four of them are now doing a bit of research on Steem now and I would love to ping them with this post so they can watch it grow! I will be sending the $300 donation shortly with this message with it to Reversal since he responded first!

Thats pretty cool..... i saw that Steemit has 200,000 current users. I expect that number to increase ezponentially as time moves on. $300?!?! Sounds like you spent your money wisely as this may be a $300 post! Good luck.
Hehe, yeah, hopefully he will make his money back from this post alone ;)
Yea and between the 4 of these guys there is something like 2 million subscribers easily! so that would be huge and #pokemongo would become everyones full time job and it would rise to a top tag on the list lol!

Holy shit. You actually did that! The cat's out of the bag now.
I mean you guys have all supported me the least I can do is go out there and get more creators!
It's a good thing. I've tried to reach out to some instagram influencers myself to no avail. But I guess for now I'll gather some funds first to do what you are doing eventually.
I've had much more success pinging anyone whos already a writer and or marketing type... but we need to diversify hence the focusing on vloggers as well!
Hopefully we will see their introduction posts here in the next few days ;) And thanks for putting your money on the line for promoting Steemit to big content creators like these guys! I really think organic marketing like this will help the platform grow a lot bigger!
They are quite busy and most likely will do their homework before diving in, but all I know is I did all I could and it's in their hands now.. if they don't see the value I can't force it but I did my best. Sometimes people like to learn on thier own speeds and times lol.
Yep, that's true. I also spent a lot of time trying to figure out much about Steemit before I even started to post here, and I'm sure people who already make a living from other websites are even more skeptical to switch. However, they could increase their income by so much just by posting the same content on both platforms. There's no need to stop monetizing YouTube just because they start posting it here as well ;)
This is so awesome. I've played pokemo. go last year but I've stopped this year. It kinda consumes my time. I kept on playing. Hahaha. You did great man! Congratulations!
Thanks for the lengths of your efforts you put in here!
I think it's a smart move to to try to bring smaller channels here first. These little guys & gals will be more commited, easier to contact and they will lure the bigger channels in eventualy!
👍👍👍

Very smart... Hope STEEMIT Feeds don't get tons of people posting playing games all the time haha
Damn. I guess sometimes it really is about being in the right place at the right time, huh? Haha $300 would be a lot of money to a broke college kid like myself!
That was my hopes! I know YouTube doesn't pay too well but these guys make a living on this regardless, just trying to help them out!
Oh wow, that's so awesome. You have done such a great job to promote our community. Reversal would actually do quite well here if his core vision extends beyond money. At first, a lot of people come here initially for money or at least the potential of it. However, there are many wonderful communities here that are quite different and amazing compared to any social networks I have been on so far.
haha, great to see you bringing users to the platform!
The law of reciprocity.
HAHAHA this is perfect, yea that was basically my thinking!
Let's grow this post! You are so kind Mr decentralizd :)
Much appreciated sir!
LOL. Good job mate! Bet these $300 felt more like a win then a loss... Steem on!
Never a loss! Investing into the future of Steem!
It sure is an investement. Great gesture really!
This is awesome, mate! I can't help but appreciate and respect community evangelists that put in so much into it. The fact that I don't really care for the particular niche you have targeted can't stop me from being excited and stoked about what you are doing.
I feel as if any user can become a content creator for any niche, just because they find out about Steem from #pokemongo for example doesn't mean we'll be flooded by #pokemongo content necessarily.. and thank you for the support!
Oh yeah, that's for sure. I doubt there is a single person out there that has only one interest. And you are right, bringing in a popular content creator to the platform doesn't mean just his content and niche, but all kinds of content that will be made by people that will learn about it because of them. And all of this because you decided to fork out your own cash, how can one not support that!
Curious to see how many pokemon activity this will generate!
Wow, awesome initiative!
It's awesome how people like you are willing to give some of their money and invest some of their time to build this community and recruit new members.
You have my respect for that! Great post and I wish you all the luck! :)
It's a good thing that you have done for Steemit, and you have my thanks for it. You should really look into Pokemon Go though. If you do, I suspect you will find that it is nothing more than the next step in the evolution of civilian surveillance. Thanks to this spyware that pretends to be a game, HD, 3D composite images of previously private areas such as homes, are now been mapped and saved for a purpose that I think we probably ought to be worried about.
My guess is many who read this comment will think I'm a paranoid cunt. Many others will already be aware of the information I have shared. But, to any that read this post and were not aware, I encourage you to do look into it yourself before agreeing to any TOS on Pokemon Go. The information is readily available and painfully transparent.
Wow, that's a nice attempt. I tried getting Kurzgesagt, and guess because of the reasons mentioned in ur post, they never replied.
$300 well spent!
That's a great idea to bring people who can post original valuable content to Steemit. Sometimes it's hard to convince people about things that are new, but your efforts will bring results, i'm sure.
When they get rich on Steemit, remind them that you brought them here :)
AMAZING! PokemonGO is literally soooo much fun and I would be super into watching this happen on Steemit. Haha I didn't even know people vlogged themselves playing that, that sounds hilarious! THIS NEEDS TO HAPPEN!!
@decentralizd, part of the pitch to content creators is that the Steem monetization is built in not just for them but also their followers. Now their followers get rewarded for upvoting and engaging through comments. Many of them have already monetized youTube, it's our benefits to their following that I think is the powerful selling point.
Good work out there! These are the kinds of efforts I think we can use the @marketing-trust for in the future.
Thank you very much for this post. I have followed and upvoted, please do the same thing for me to help each other.
Great post fam, love it. Network master!
Well done bro! :) To be honest, I'm on the other side... like not seeing worth playing the game... but you are brave in your efforts and I'd like to congratulate you for the enthusiasm.
Hey @decentralizd, good post. I'm a new Steemer and only just joined the platform. It would be great if you could have a quick look at my blog and hit the follow button if my content resonates with you. Much appreciated.
Wow that's awesome!!great that you kept your word!👍🏻
