RE: [weekendfun] Steemy Or Not.com - Vote On Steemy Hot People

in #steemit8 years ago

i want to suggest a few improvements:

  1. allow the sound to get turned off, it's funny the first time only...
  2. parse only articles in the #steemyornot category, decrypt the articles based on #3
  3. create a wizard that integrates with steemimg and encrypts the payload (metadata and URL to image) using a multisignature encryption key composed of steemyornot.com key and a key generated for the user's account and particular post
  4. user uploads this image to their steemit.com account (maybe can automate this somehow)
  5. when user wants to make a post unreadable, you can simply trash that particular key (or if only stored on the client side, they can trash the key)

if you want to make it more elaborate, you would also use a seperate key on your side for each post, so if someone reports an inappropriate image you can delete the key, making it impossible to decrypt the markdown text or whatever you use (json) to id and create the content

also make it easier to follow the babes ;)

Good suggestions! I'll add a few. First of all, thanks to the OP for this creative project :) I came across it in Steem App Center. I was a bit confused on what it actually does. It would be cool if:

  1. It really upvoted something, so the Steemy people could get actual votes for this (pressing "no" would just do the same as "skip")
  2. Would be useful to have some kind of FAQ on the functionality straight on the page (now I needed to find the answers here in the discussion)

The biggest challenge in upvoting might be to figure out what exactly to upvote, but I think there are solutions to this... even if it might need some configuration in the Steemit platform. Fortunately it's open source at least, makes it easier to propose changes that are faster to implement :)
