I'll agree with you in this case - in fact I've just read part of Golos' White Paper and the reasons behind establishing the new network are silly. You can read the reply I just posted to another user, on this article.
However, it is very much possible that the early adopters of Golos will become quite rich, before its currency loses value, just like Steem.
Success in any venture will bring the copycats... yet it seems each time the original maintains it's status as the standard.
