It depends on the precise definition you use. If you include people who visit Steemit.com but don't log in (they may not have Steem accounts), then Hypestat which is based on Alexa data suggests it's over 600,000 unique visitors each day. That likely means several million unique monthly users, and may also be an underestimate since some fraction of users must use DTube or Busy etc. as their main interface.
60,000 seems closer to the daily active users who do log in and make transactions, but that includes bots. It's ultimately tough to measure, even when you narrow down your criteria.
Discounting users who don't interact with the blockchain directly (making transactions) makes sense when comparing to other cryptocurrencies, but puts Steem under a tougher measurement system than other social networks, which typically do count users without accounts.
This is exactly the point I am trying to get across. I talking about real people who are actually vested in the Community and chatting / talking / interacting with the #Steem Blockchain. Not those that simply read what the Community is saying or doing..!! Stephen
