So everyone knows the current Steem "class" system based on how much Steem Power you have. It goes like this:
1,000,000,000 Vests - Whale
100,000,000 Vests - Orca
10,000,000 Vests, - Dolphin
100,000 Vests - Minnow
Less than that - Redfish
Well with Hard Fork 20, we will have a new class of functional Steem accounts, that start with literally 0 Steem Power. I think it is a significant step, to move from zero to non-zero, so we should have a new term for this new class of Steemian.
Shellfish are often among the smallest of sea creatures. I think the idea of shells fits with an account which is waiting to be filled with Steem Power. What do you think?
You missed the Manatee and snapper.
How about Krill?
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Krill
It's true.
I like the "shellfish" appellation, especially how the word "shell" suggests an outer container which, of course, can be filled with SP. The other possibility I thought of was "krill", for obvious reasons.
Great Idea. I cannot wait to hear what these shells have to say..
hahah... nice to see Spongebob around!!
Of course. ;)
Why not? It's an interesting concept. I'll toss you a follow.
Best Regards,
@abn
I like the idea
That is disgusting! lol I think Im a red fish...Crying noises*
Love it! I could do with a shell... and it may be the only 'mussel' I put on this year! haha
I like it! Wow, I had not idea that this was happening. Thanks for the update. Who will these "shell" accounts be? Will it be all new users who sign up?
It will be new users signed up by Steemit after hard fork 20.
@demotruk, I like the name Shell, it also stand for something that needs to be protected and our new users need to be protected and supported. Only thing I don't like is the picture ;) not very tasty.
I did not know the class system. Hadn't seen it
Listed out like that before. Thanks.
shells are precious... but I would not like it... to chose the name maybe we should follow the same pattern of marine beings able to move around and maybe evolve..
bit of a mouthful Paedocypris progenetica smallest fish in the sea " according to google" someone can simplify the name would make sense .
Interesting post, with the appearance of shells that so, I think good to enjoy the shell @demotruk
Definitely a redfish!! Don't think I will make it to minnow any time soon!
You're already 1/3 of the way there.
It only takes one decent/lucky payout and you may jump up to minnow.
True, true. I keep writing out detailed articles that I think have value, but you have to post it at the right time, that just catches the attention of a whale or two!
Well that I registered for Steеm before Hard Fork 20. Now I Redfish, оtherwise it would be Shellfish.:)
sounds good to me, but crab crossed my mind though but then again no one would love to be crab, lol. shell sounds better.
I thought I was a minnow but it seems I'm a Redfish. Thanks for clarifying!
The shellfish seems uncanny but it has a weird beauty to it haha.
What are vests?
Vests are the internal representation of Steem Power. They convert to Steem at a rate which increases very slightly with each new block.
So what is the conversion like from Steem Power to Steem when you power down?
One to one.
Plankton? At least every account has the potential to grow. Small sea creatures tend to stay small. New users start with very little SP now, but they can do well with good comments now
Plankton literally never grow beyond microscopic. A shell always has the potential to be filled. Even if it's not a very prestigious name, few active users would remain a shell for long.
I wanna be a giant clam!
I think i don't like these seafood close-ups much!
Makes sense but i try not to focus on my status, i just know there's a long road ahead!
Well, damn! Lol
Not bad. Shells surely seem to have some place in Steem class shelves.
it takes time to grow SP if you are new user.
100,000 Vests are Minnows? I have 150 vests, I guess I am just a microscopic shell here
You have 322,000 Vests.
Oh sorry I thought Vests and Steem Power were the same thing. Thanks for clarifying
They are different denominations of the same thing.
good post
I have sent you some STEEM just to support you. Hope you had a good one.
There is no need for that, I already have quite a bit of Steem, but thank you for your gesture :-)
It was just to SUPPORT you. Thank you so much! Keep in touch :)
interesting post
thanks for sharing
You posted the same comment on several blogs. Please don't spam generic comments.
Yes, thank you
Good advice, I understand

I will try to learn from the shells
And please see my post for you learn / guidance
I hope from you @demotruk
I think that i am a Steemit Shellfish :)
