Dear Steemit,
12 days, 19 posts, and so far I’ve earned $337 mainly just from writing content. I make sure that I still comment and upvote other posts though, but only those that interest me, or those that deserved to be rewarded. And I really wanna thank you for this opportunity to be part of this amazing community. I would just like to continue doing what I love - traveling and writing.
I'm sorry if I'm writing something off my usual topic, which is travel. I just want to send this letter to you, and the next one will probably be next year.
At the beginning I was lost you know, you were complicated for me. Then I just tried to understand you and learned that you were not really that complicated as you seemed to be.
I know I should not worry too much about the reward, even though sometimes I get a bit discouraged. For the first day, you gave me this inexplicable high you know, you were like a drug to me. I'm so attached to you now. At the beginning, I couldn’t sleep for all these untold stories inside me. I wasn’t really expecting that much, then I started seeing readers were actually upvoting my content, I was a bit shock. When my friends started seeing that I was earning something in just a few hours on my first day, they doubted me straight away. They told me that you are “easy money” and that you are too good to be true. I stayed away from the negativity. I stayed for you and continued writing, not just for the money but also because you give me some kind of fulfillment. Now you have all my best work produced out of my creativity and isolation by choice.
Guess what? I’m not spending a lot of time on Facebook anymore, most of my free time is spent writing for you. You see, I really put some time and effort to make sure that I am delivering good quality content. Besides, I love to see how some steemians genuinely appreciate what I write, and I’m happy that my content is of value or is beneficial to other steemians.
I know that some of my content will earn and some will not, but I guess it’s fine. I was at some point experiencing that euphoric high, and now I am in withdrawal mode. The time will come for us - big fishes @anarchospace. I just hope you’ll put some new tab there to separate the resteems or a dedicated tab for travel or a subcommunity of some sort. Perhaps we can have a custom filter or view so I don’t miss out on my followers’ posts. I know that my post just gets to appear for a fraction of a second on the new tab, hoping that some of the thousands of steemians will get to see it. Just saying though, I’m pretty sure you’ve already noticed this.
Anyway, if everything works out well, who knows, I’d be with you full time. Right now I got to put some food on the table, for me and my cat. My cat’s getting jealous because you get a lot of attention from me now. You are a life-changing experience and I hope you will continue to exist, and you will for as long as we are here....
I will be writing to you again next year and see what happened to our relationship, or what has improved or not. Don’t worry though, I am probably here to stay. ;)

hi diabolika!!! I found you too :P I hope I get to hear many more of your thoughts! It's really good to know where to put your focus, steemit is kinda crazy, and I think it is going to be a struggle for many of us, to not jump in completely.

It worked at some point, I don't know what happened. Can it work on my feed, I mean not on my own blog feed.
Yeah, I don't currently have it implemented for the home feed, but yes, that would be a great suggestion =)
I understand your desire to be seen by more people. I too have made a post on it. The new feed is nice to watch from time to time to meet new people. But the main idea is to follow only the people who make posts that interest you. When more people start doing that instead of following everyone in hopes of getting a follower in return(like most people do on Twitter and Instagram. Including me) I think the platform will benefit for it. Just think if all the people your following have similar interests to you then everyday when you log on you will get relevant and useful posts in your feed. I'm still learning Steemit as well so thank you for the post.
I guess what I'm saying is that few of my followers' post I'm really interested in just get burried there. I don't want to miss out on their posts so I unfollowed some people.
You are right, I should be probably find time to look for people to follow, who are posting something that interests me.

I have found that using STEEM has led to me rarely logging into facebook anymore. Usually that only happens when I'm messaged directly. I do find myself finding less time on STEEM than I used to on Facebook though. I find the "new" feed to be of little value, since so many posts are not interesting, or garbage. My "feed" simply doesn't have enough activity to keep me busy enough. So I find myself scrolling through the "new" list, kind of like I scrolled through my facebook feed, but not finding anything of interest. Good news though, I found this post through the "new" list :)

All my friends are on facebook, I tried to convince them to switch to steemit but as you know, they don't believe. Ok, I guess this is not for everyone.
Best way to get more feed activity is to follow more people that interest you. I know you know this but just stating the obvious for people scrolling through the comments that may be new.
