RE: Let's Talk—Why Is Facebook Treating Steemit URLs as Spam? (UPDATE: It's Deleting My Post In 30 Days Now!)

in #steemit7 years ago

So I covered the whole "How long before someone buys steemit?" the other day.
As @steevc said

"Someone could buy Steemic Inc, but they would still not have total control of the blockchain unless they can supplant all the witnesses. Given the price of Steem it would be fairly expensive to buy them out and what return would they get?"

I doubt Facebook is at the Running scared stage yet but I'm not surprised they are putting up barriers for people trying to promote a service that could potentially lose Facebook users. Remeber, when you post links on other social media services you are in fact saying "Hey come and join us over here and start earning rewards for exactly what you're are doing on here for nothing in return!"

No wonder Facebook wants to block your content. ☺

Good point and thank you for including your article, which I also enjoyed. I hadn't thought about the safety that block chains provide and how it prevents monopolies. We are living in interesting times and it is nice to be here. I wrote an article trying to encourage people to bring people over from FB to here, now wondering if it'll be spammed. Fingers crossed! Thanks for you comment, upvoted and following. @ecoknowme This is the article I mentioned: https://steemit.com/steemit/@ecoknowme/mass-exodus-getting-your-talented-and-interesting-facebook-friends-to-join-steem-it-my-challenge-to-all-steemers

Followed you back. :-)
