This is a report about Steemit's Organic traffic - visitors during last month.
The Organic Traffic is the kind of access done using Search Engine Search Result - aka SERP.
Today I have dicovered where is 4.98% of the traffic of steemit coming from. Take a look
62 200 - Total unique visitors from Organic Traffic during last month
4.98% means 3097 unique visitors per month.
So the page created by @Charlie.wilson makes alone 4.98% of the steemit unique visitors of organic traffic per month.
How much is the author getting rewarded - just $0.15 . Is this fair ?
To you the judgment

P.S. Charlie your page is one of the better quoted on Google - and one of my favorites - keep going!!
You have made some points that I have thought of before.
And who know, perhaps Steemit will implement some changes in the future if this gets discussed enough. Remember that we are still in Beta Stage and there is much room for improvment.
This is a comment that I have made before. I'll just repeat it below:

I am happy to see such nice suggestions - I can say that if Steemit will continue to ignore the importance of views and unique visitors I will just go away and start a better website with a more fair rewarding system. Disclosure - I am a software engineer
Thanks.
Like I mentioned above, Steemit is in Beta Stage and it is a long, slow process. So at least stick around until it is out of Beta; or if you take a break then check back again in the future to see what has changed and improved.
Things will not change if we don't push - and there's no point to try to change a community that loves whales and ignores traffic and genuine Google ranked articles. Disclosure - by whales I mean big Steemit influencers
You can build your own front end using Steem as backend, like busy.org for example. Doing this you could design the site how you wish and display the content on whole new different way. Could be based on views, comments etc.
That is not how this system was set up. People are rewarded via upvotes by other users, not because of the traffic their content generates via the SERPS.
Hi @Hilarski - thanks for comment.
Yes - I know - steemit system is not rewarding articles that get lots of genuine traffic.
Correct, because that is not how the system works. The Whitepaper explains it.
I know Hilarski - I read the Whitepaper.
This doesn't change the reality but - most of articles that get genuine traffic and gain people involvement in this community are not rewarded.
Great research! One possibility to reward these most viewed posts by organic traffic would be creating an account like @curie to regularly promote these authors and receive donations. Each month a share of the amount of STEEM collected would be transfered to them like @steemcenterwiki does. Thanks and good luck again.
thank you. There's another way to reward the authors - and is by displaying the articles with most view on current day -where- on a page - maybe under "hot" or "trending" page - so maybe this way the articles get visibility in the community and some voters will make happen the deserved "tip"
Great idea! If not in Steemit this feature could be developed in another service or app that runs over Steem blockchain, like Busy.org, ChainBB or eSteem. Good luck again!
Thanks for the suggestion - I discover now about app on block-chain with Steemit - I will give it a chance.
That sounds good!
Hi @runridefly @slobo @nirmal @dulcepot @mckenzie259 @syarrf Thank you for following/upvote - please RESTEEM - the story is being buried by new spammy articles and have no visibility. Thank you

I guess Steemit is good as is. First of all this community is self-sufficient. The natural growth rate of this community itself proves the fact.
Secondly, maybe, if SEO is applied, it can give better results. That will drive more traffic for sure. But that won't help the author in any way ;)
Hi welcome. Thanks for comment
Are you new to community
Yup. Did my comment above sounded gibberish?
If so, i am sorry, I am still learning :(
ahahah no !!
I can understand what you wrote - nice and clear.
Steemit is for sure a great community and the platform is amazing with huge rewards in money for people - but - you will notice something bad is happening... you are new - so I don't want to ruin your journey with my intro - hopefully if problems will be solved you will notice just the good parts..
Okay. I am open to explore more of it as it happens. Lets see. :)
@digitalplayer Good point man! That's cool you took the time to research, not a lot of people will do that!
This is the reason we need multiple front ends. We could have site that shows most popular content sorted by views or comments. Steemit can't offer everything for everyone.
