Waiting for my vote to update:
I thought making this update might be as simple as adding a some javascript. But as @anyx said:
if you want to see the actual values, you have to perform the transaction.
So my proposal is to create a setting that hides reward amounts.
Reasoning
Most steemit investors spend a lot of time curating and voting on content. If we just care about content, then making us wait just so we can see the rewards update is unnecessary and slow.
The number of people who voted (the people icon) would still serve as an indicator for popularity, as would the number of comments.
And sometimes we do want to see how much money a post has generated in rewards, so there should also be a mechanism to show rewards for individual posts.
I kinda like the delay, but I could see not all would. It's strangely fun waiting in anticipation to see (about) how much of a difference your upvote made.
Generally the faster the better though! Not too long ago upvoting would simply turn the circle green instantly, and would pretty much send the transaction instantly too. I wonder if people upvoting and quickly navigating away caused vote transactions not to be signed. I have noticed that after the spin animation was added if I vote then navigate away while it still spins, the vote has gone through, so there's probably some slack in the time to show you the (now) blue-filled circle and update the pending payout total.
Kinda with this. We are so used to rushing through social media sites from one feed to the next, it kind of relaxes the process and gives that feeling of "I wonder what kind of value my upvote will bring..."
That is true though. You can see your influence on the "Social Experiment"
I too find it relaxing at times, but other times I'm overcome by intense frustration. Mood can be volatile.
sounds good !!!!!
On it now.
