I am hoping in the long run the OG content mentality will prevail.
I recently posted about this topic in an effort to spread the word.
Also don't forget that there are things you can do.
Don't be afraid to flag abusers. I have recently been flagging the hell outta obvious spam accounts. You can also report to steemcleaners.link drop on steem chat.
Click pinned messages.
Top message is the form to fill out to report any sort of spamming or tomfoolery.
Drop a Red Flag Hurricane on Spammers!

They will get the message.

How do you Report or flag people ?

One way to report:

1. Go to steem chat
2. Visit the steem cleaners link drop channel.
3. On the right side there is a menu. Click the pinned messages pin.
   (this is important because they are phasing out of steem chat and going to google docs.)
4. The top message there is the reporting form.
5. fill it out and submit.

Flagging people is easy. Upper right hand side of post. Grayed out flag icon. Click it.
It is probably wise to check the wallets of people you flag before you flag them.
