I am definitely enjoying this new platform, called Steemit, which uses crypto-currency as its base. I think it stands to revolutionize the way we do social media. Of interest is the censorship-aspect, to me anyway. Posts can't been removed, accounts can't be taken away, because of content the owners find objectionable.
Here is a white paper if you're interested in the gory details:

Here is the section on Censorship:
It's in the blockchain, dummy! This is the sort of concept I've been dreaming about, and someone has finally gone and done it!
Now all they need is a smartphone app. I find the desktop version to be fairly easy to use, but wow, the mobile-friendly version of this site is very hard to use. My phone isn't the most super powerful in the world, but most sites work pretty well once they are rendered. But Steemit seems to take forever to load and get to the point where I can scroll around. I have to jab the upvote button several times to upvote a post or a comment.
Please please please Steemit folks, either come out with an Android/IOS smartphone app or at least provide an API.
I haven't had a chance to look over the site very much, but there's this website with tools that are useful for Steemit users called, appropriately enough, SteemTools. Maybe there are phone apps listed there? http://steemtools.com
I'm pretty sure there are mobile apps available. I've seen many announcement posts for them over the last couple of weeks.
Nothing turns up at http://play.google.com/ when I search for "steemit".
Lot of apps are being developed just hit the search and type in android app. https://steemit.com/steemit/@good-karma/ann-steemit-mobile-app-android
