What’s Your Favorite Morning Drink: Coffee, Tea, Water, Juice? Why?

The first thing that I drink in the morning is water. But I don't do breakfast (I'm on an intermittent fasting routine) so instead of that I'm drinking a special type of coffee, with a thing called ganoderma in it. I don't add sugar or anything else, I like it as bitter as possible and I "stretch" it for almost half an hour.

If I work outside - like in a coffee shop or a coworking space - I usually take a green tea too.

After many trials - and errors - I observed that having a more fluid first half of the day, without solid food, that is, gives me more energy and an overall feeling of balance. If I have solid foods during the first part of the day, especially "traditional" breakfast, I get sleepier and feel bloated.

Welcome to the party!

I will always go with coffee first thing every morning. When you do the kinda stressful job i do you need to be on your feet first thing in the morning

Coffee is my favorite choice in the morning but at i drink water at first. Because it is very helpful for our health.

It's an interesting topic today. Looking forward to reading people's favorite drinks. I hope I can try some of the new ones I read here today.

Starbucks iced americano is my bevy of choice, don’t vary from it too often. Need a little caffeine in the more for a long day of steeming

I make a smoothie with banana, cacao, and hemp powder. It's very good nutritionally, and the cacao is a mild stimulant

This is quite a topic I have really been avoiding to tell people. It just shows I don't keep to advice I give people as a medical student. Here is my post for today

right now i'm drinking cold lemon water that's sat overnight each morning, then a coffee, then breakfast (eggs and sriache) and then biscuits with my second cup of coffee about an hour later after chores! :)

I'm off coffee at the moment - was hard to quit and it's everywhere I go...but I don't like being controlled and coffee is always summoning me hehe.

I like the idea of having a more fluid morning. A heavier breakfast does wipe me out before I even get started. Might have to try it. As for my post, here's the link.

Anyone who knows me also knows that I love tea. It might be black, green, white, red, herbal or some .My reason for drinking it? Well there are many let me list them for you:

#More interesting than water– Yep, simple as that. I get bored with water in the morning. Also I avoid sugar-laden juice and soda in the morning. Tea has been my go-to drink for years. I will stay hydrated if I have my tea!

#Less caffeine than coffee# – I’m pretty sensitive to caffeine, so coffee gives me a serious case of the jitters. The average cup o’ joe contains 135mg of caffeine vs 40mg in a cup of black tea.

#Relaxing # High quality black and green teas contain theanine, a compound which affects the brain waves and promotes relaxation.

#Other health benefits# There are many. Tea can help reduce cholesterol levels. Drinking tea likely improves insulin sensitivity and reduces the risk of developing diabeties
