May 30 Days Writing Challenge - Day Twenty Six: What’s Your Favorite Tool / Blockchain Explorer for Steemit?

in #steemit7 years ago

Welcome to the twenty sixth day of the May 30 days writing challenge. If you don't know what this challenge is about, please have a look at the introductory post. Also, at the end of each article I will post the links to all the posts in the challenge (if you're joining the challenge, I encourage you to do the same). Also, if you join, don't forget to tag your post with #challenge30days and also leave a comment with the link of your post, so I can evaluate if you're one of the 3 lucky Steemians that will get a full upvote from me.

What’s Your Favorite Tool / Blockchain Explorer for Steemit?

I will start by saying upfront that I use steem.supply on a daily basis, but I will exclude it from my choices. I wrote that tool and got an enormous amount of feedback and support from my followers, but I won't think it would be fair to include it in this post.

So, my favorite blockchain explorer for Steemit is actually two explorers :)

1. steemd.com

Steemd.com, by @roadscape, was the first blockchain explorer I saw when I started to use Steem, around 2 years ago. It's very basic, but also extremely comprehensive and accurate. The witnesses page is the one that I'm referring to most frequently, but I'm also using it to check various bits and pieces, like specific transactions or operations.

2. steemdb.com

Steemdb.com, by @jesta, is one of his many contributions to this blockchain (apart from the desktop wallet Vessel, his now defunct chainbb.com and many other improvements). I like the UI and how the information is laid out, in a more structured way than Steemd.com.

With that being said, I don't think there is a "perfect" tool out there and each one serves a specific purpose. The more, the merrier :)

So, what's your favorite blockchain explorer / tool for the Steem universe? Leave a link to your post in the comments so I can check it out.

Wanna know when you're getting paid?

I know the feeling. That's why I created steem.supply, an easy to use and accurate tool for calculating your Steemit rewards

It's free to use, but if you think this is a useful addition, I'd appreciate your witness vote.

Thank you!

Wait, Discord counts here? if so it would be my number #1... I don't want to change my answer though.

steem supply and steemworld.org,
i use these mostly.

Steemd definitely, that server is very complete and you can follow the statistics and the record of each user in the community. From the SP to the reputation, what I like most about the portal is that it is easy to find each information and you do not have to complicate much. All in one tab.

I really like your tool: steem.supply. I use it often to check on my payouts and voting power. It's just that I'm missing a few things that could really increase its usability. Here's the promt

Most welcome sir
Congratulations sir your post for

Great post

I used them most :

Steemd.com

I am new here in this platform, I have learn lots from your post. I am exploring steemd.com and other you have mentioned in your post.

I thought I'd just go ahead and answer today's prompt here. The blockchain tool I use the most is steemworld.org by steemchiller. I really like the UI and that it pulls in a lot of information via tabs into one window. I use it mainly to see what I'm doing, but it does come in handy if I'm looking for info about anyone else.

There are other tools that I will access but I don't use any of them nearly as much.

I usually use tools such as beem which is a python library for exploring the blockchain, but I agree I constantly refer back to steemd and stermdb .

I have to take this opportunity to plug a tool I developed for exploring user posting history. It's still in development but there is lots to come

I think my first choice will definitely be steemd too, I use it daily... I'm not sure about the next one though, lets say it's a tie between is minnowbooster and steem.supply.

1. Steemd.com

It's just important to know who upvoted me, and where my upvotes go (As I use services that use my posting key.) and if I got new comment without the need to open steemit.

2. Minnowbooster.net

I use their sell upvotes services, I also use their mention service to know if I was mentioned by anyone lately. Though I might use another tool for the mentions next.

3. Steem.supply

I don't use it as much lately, but I still use it in my busy weeks. It's the go to website when I want to know how many hours 'till I get my payout. (I wonder if you even considered that as I use case of the website @dragosroua.)

I completely agree with you on this one. Those are also my three choices.
Here's my post

We're getting so close to the end. This has been a lot of fun! While no tool is perfect, here is my response for my favorite Steemit tool: https://steemit.com/challenge30days/@michaelluchies/what-s-your-favorite-tool-blockchain-explorer-for-steemit-30-days-writing-challenge-day-26

Now I know what a blockchain explorer is - thank you!
