I think you are kind of wrong here man... This upvote begging is typical of newbies who really does not know how the site works, and they really think begging will help them... They simply DONT know what they doing, they see all this other posts getting hundreds of upvotes and thousands of dollars in payout, and they simple cant figure how to get there, they feel like starting to beg is the way to go up, they simply are frustrated... Yes this behavior is annoying, and it wont help them, but we must understand one thing: We may see tons of this behavior every day and we are pretty aware that is not the best way to go here, but a newbie that just arrived never have seen this behavior, nor even knows that is wrong or right to do here... Best way to go should be to have a polite answer to them telling that begging is wrong, and thats it... This begging wont stop, like NEVER, there is always going to be newbies arriving, and if we want them to stay and the community to grow, we must teach them, not scare them...

I appreciate your input and everyone is allowed to have their own opinion. - I don't mean to do this to scare people. - I want this to be a feature because that will teach people.
I get an average of 5 or 6 messages per day. And even though that doesn't seem to be much.. Just imagine how many messages dolphins get, or the whales?
And in all honesty, I can see the difference between a rookie who doesn't understand things and money-seekers. - And 4 out of 5 people I get messages from, are nothing but money-seekers. - I don't support them or their behaviour. - And I would never upvote or resteem any of their content, because that will lead to only one thing. Even more requests.
I can handle the messages today... But how about 1 month from now.. Or 6 months.. Or a year. - Am I supposed to spend 11 hours per day, teling 421 people that they're doing things wrong? - Nope. Ain't gonna happen.
And sure, I could just ignore them all.. And I often do, but that doesn't feel good. I am a person who cares about others. I work hard to encourage, motivate and inspire my readers... - But I can't continue to support or to tell these beggars that they're doing things wrong.. - And that's why I came up with this idea, because I truly believe that most people ignore them... - But that's the wrong approach. You need to teach them, but none of us will sit down and copy/paste or write hundreds of messages per day... And I bet that's the future we're heading towards right now.
It will come to the point where the best thing to do is ignore them, and thats all... You know, this begging thing is something we cant fight against, it will keep happening and it will happen even more, we have to get our mindset prepared to it...
I totally see your point but I can't agree with you on this. - This behaviour will not stop and it will be even worse with more people if you don't do something to prevent it.. And that's the reason for my post. Perhaps I haven't proposed the best solution, but at least it is a solution.
The thing is i dont see this as a problem, it is just annoying, but not a real problem at all... The blockchain have several other problem to solve, i think... Also, invisible articles is already possible if you flag it...
Like I said from the beginning. Everyone is allowed to have their own opinions. You and I see this entirely differently. - I see it as a major problem, as I would like to help, inspire and motivate people. - And that doesn't work as long as people are doing things like this, as you won't have enough energy to teach and discuss things with them all, one by one.
There are no solutions to this problem, yet. - You can't flag someone's post simply due to him sending you private messages about it.. -That's wrong, especially as that would hurt the authors reputation. - I would only downvote content due to plagiarism or being offensive, like racism or things like that. - I can't flag someone for his behavior if the content is of high quality. - That doesn't feel good.
That being said, if we talk about people spamming in the comments and things like that. Then that's a different story. However, I don't like the thought of downvoting these people either, as some of them could actually be newcomers who truly believes that things works like that.
I want a solution that avoid hurting people's reputation score, although I still want it to prevent peoples behaviour. - And that's what I've proposed.
I won't say that it's the only solution or the best for that matter.. But it is a solution that would prevent this behaviour, without hurting people's reputation.
I could potentially block people from sending me private messages or just stop using the chats myself.. But that doesn't feel right. - I want people to contact me in case they feel like it... - And if they have a good reason for it.
There might be a ton of problems with the blockchain or with steemit in general, more imortant issues than what I've mentioned. I won't argue about that. I simply state the obvious. People don't appreciate this type of behaviour and something should be done to prevent it.
You can I, we can simply agree to not agree on this. :)
Yeah, i see you point, there is nothing wrong in disagree sometimes!, i think it is important to have different opinions and points of views!... Cheers! :)
Yeah, definitely! - Just imagine how boring life would be if everyone had the same opinions on everything. Different opinions is what makes great debates. Thank you for all your detailed replies. :)
