Steemconnect is the primary connection api used on steem. I think it was created by busy.org. You should always check the url to make sure you actually on steemconnect. Steemconnect will warn you what information is being shared. In the case of steemhost, we are only interested in confirming that you have an actual steem id.
If you send someone steem dollars, or want to delegate some steem power to them (which steemhost does), you only need their steem id eg @neoninja. The only time that steemhost requires you to pay for something is when you decide to buy a banner ad space. This process is similar to the process of transferring steem to someone else on steemit.com or busy.org. While you define how much you are transferring the actual transaction with the account confirmation is handled by steem connect.
This is on steemhost: No information collected aside from creating the text to be on the transaction:
A new window is created specific to steem connect (observe the url).
The information about who from, who to, how much and a memo has been transferred to steemconnect.
Subsequently you need to log into steem connect to authenticate the transaction
Always confirm that you on steemconnect when you process any transaction (outside of steemit.com or busy.org). More information can be found at https://steemprojects.com/projects/p/steemconnect/
Finally steem connect returns the transaction information
In about 10 minutes (or less) this transaction is confirmed against our transaction ... which then activates the advertisements.
I encourage you to visit Akdx or any of our hosts at least once per day. As a visitor on his page remember to log in:
This identifies you as having a valid steem id (as a visitor) so you can share in the advertising rewards.

I have some suggestions. Interface of steemhost needs to be amended. There is a lot of confusion which needs to be resolved. First of all a single webpage should contain the steemhost FAQ page and visitor/host log in page. Help button should also be added there. When I visit my hosted site, I don't have option to edit my host preferences. Interface needs a lot of modification. There are many things which needs to be amended. I hope this will be beneficial for steemhost and the users as well.
You should write a post in which you should give detail about how the system of steemhost works. People on steemit normally forgets any old post which is not able to receive any payout.
How about this one?
