Users can simply organize common-interest Steemit gatherings for various purposes like blockchain education, investing clubs, social, sporting (as you mentioned) and entertainment events... Church events, pretty much any type of event and can even pay (for paid Steemerators) using Steem and access the app using their Steemit username.. For me, Steemit is that ultimate platform that I literally waited years for and I think that Steemerator is an easy, fun and quickly scalable app for people already on Steemit to take your point about targetted audience growth into their own hands and create the perfect interest-driven incentive for new comers that want to attend Steemerators to sign up and start engaging with the steem blockchain or as you put it, "start mining with their minds."
