Thanks @eco-alex. Really enjoyed reading your post. Couldnt quite get Changelly to work for me though to send money to Steem. I couldn't add my bank details outside of a QCR code, which I cannot use with my bank for international payments. Any expreience on how to bypass this process?

There are sites like localbitcoins or applications like abra can help you find brokers close by, but now we are buying bitcoin and will have to transfer and convert it.
good to know! i usually use my bittrex account so im not sure about this.. it might just be that you have to be inside of a QCR code, whatever that is!?

You may need to use another service, I have used coinbase, jerry banfield recommended bitstamp and also uses coinbase.
You could also use a broker. Like in this article with fitinfun, sometimes the answer is a person.
