👠My work boots. Mining steem with my shoes👢

in #steemit7 years ago (edited)

@stellabelle just wrote an article about mining steem with your mind.

She said to write about your shoes.

I give you my work boots, they've been through alot: many oil and coolant spills, red hot weld and torch slag falling into my feet, kicking things... I wear steel toe boots in the winter and steel toe shoes in the summer at my day job. I'm journeyperson automotive service technician.

A couple of tears.

A few lace loops busted.

Sometimes I even ride my bicycle to work in them.

Lots of tread still.

I think this will be my last season with this pair.

These boots were made for hard work. They look like they have seen a lot. When they are ready to be hung up, be kind to them. Don't just toss them aside for newer and shinier boots. See if they can be given other useful jobs. Perhaps as a planter or a door stop?

Still got lotsa tread there, you're good haha. Ed check out the latest Team Canada Post, we're gonna need to get 15 of us on Discord so we can start a group. It's just an easy way to chat with eachother. Cheers

Chat? Do I look like I'm 13?

Yep I Know. Those shoes worn at a car repair biz place take a beating for sure. I worked at one for 2 years as a porter/janitor. Body shop dust is the worst it sticks to everything you wear. Oil spills, antifreeze spills, transmission fluid, brake fluid. All these corrosive fluids end up on your shoes.. Good post Ed!

Thanks, I appreciate it.
