RE: What is the Deeper PURPOSE of Your Posts on Steemit?

in #steemit8 years ago

Just started here recently and have taken a step back just to think about this exactly. And that is a big part of Steemit, synchronicity. We gather here and create content. The rest of it is just that, also creating content. And for most of the people here that is the best part of Steemit. We are permissible to create content that we value and as others value that content it becomes of shared value. It is energy moving from one source to another and to another. This is the genius and intent of Steemit, it is a sea and the energy of "money" moves just like how water in it's forms moves. Obviously this is no mistake by the creators. It's a place where this becomes an active and real part of how Steemit and everything connected to it is working now. I am very grateful to have found this place and am finding my foundation in it. Keep up the great posts! I need to learn markdown!

Part of the genius of the reward system here is that it is "training" people to see the direct benefit of helping others. I sit here, and by upvoting your comment, I can literally see that 7c (no fortune, by any means) went into your virtual tip jar. The point is that the system teaches us that it feels good to help others... and so we create content, and others help US by leaving these "tips."

Which is a helluva lot better than the eternal dog-eat-dog world of take-take-take out there.

The fact that there is as much of a sense of "community" here as there is, is brilliant too. There are lots of palces with user generated content... but nowhere else have I seen this level of engagement. We actually address each others... not just a thumbs up or a *nice post, bro."
