Yes post and publication are two different terms, I was pretty clear about that. Where did you get your information about a publication having to be at least 10 pages? I haven't found any requisite like that in my research.
It is true that posts will not reach an entire audience every time, but that is also true for articles and a little beside the point. In addition all Steemit posts, whether a post or publication, are technically dated.
Although it is true that some publications have printed copies, most do not these days. There are way more online publications than printed ones, otherwise there would be a lot more wasted paper.
Furthermore, we publish to the Steemit blockchain, there is nothing more permanent than that. Anything published on Steemit in managed by Steemit and its authors. Also, posts on other social media like Facebook are not deleted, at least not automatically. So how are those not long-time public records? Especially if that person's posts are public?
All I was saying is that you cannot call your work a publication if it is not mostly original material, which is VERY true. Otherwise it is someone else's publication that has been stolen. And also that a post of just a few lines of text with a couple photos is just general information and is not considered a publication, regardless if that post is dated and permanent or not.
Sorry I am just super confused by some of the things stated here. I think I addressed everything, thank you for your input.
