I converted all my crypto into Steem and then into Steem Power because I believe in this platform and this community.
I have been investing in the crypto space (mainly ETH) for the last year and have done very well. After finally coming over to the bright side and posting on Steemit about one month ago, I saw massive potential and truly enjoyed the content I was reading and the comments that I was receiving.
- Nick, why would you put all of your crypto assests into one company? Shouldn't you diversify?
Yes, I should diversify. But I am willing to take a risk on such a great platform, that I believe has so much potential for success. After HF 19 the ability for minnows and dolphins to have much more influence and gain rewards is astounding.
I also realized that through the use of esteem app, through the use of creating content and dialouge with others that I could not only invest into the Steemit platform, but I could also create value from it.
For the last two months I have been telling my friend whom I got into crypto (bastard wont get into to Steemit yet) how we need to be thinking of ways to create a residual income from crypto. We need to be thinking of how we can capitalize on being the early adopters of such an innovative technology.
- I feel Steemit is that residual income.
Now you do have to put in work, a lot of work to do well on Steemit. However, for me I was already reading articles on redit, watching videos on youtube and participating in discussion. I was already writing friends on facebook and posting once in a while about cool places and people that I have met.
With Steemit I can continue to do all of those things I previously did for free, but can earn an income!
- Nick, I get it now. I think I will go all in on Steemit too!
Be careful, be prepared to loose it all!
But also, have the mindset to gain it all. Its your world, your life and you are in charge of it.

I don't know why it would be dangerous. You have the ability to choose who you spend your rewards on. I choose to use them on people whom i interact within the platform. I want to help build a community while also helping to build my account. Essentially its one in the same. And that is not determined by how much SP or reputation you have but through your interaction with the people who use Steemit.
Hmm.. Yes, that is a good point. I suppose I was thinking that that sheer amount could swing a lot of content one way. But maybe I'm just being dramatic. O:)

I use the Iphone app eSteem to post, comment and browse Steemit when I am on breaks at my work, or am not able to use my labtop. It's a great way to still interact and not have to use my computer. It can be a bit laggy, but it is still newer and I have confidence that @good-karma will continue to create a killer app!

I've been on here for around a month also and see HUGE potential here. The idea of residual income from steemit is something I've also thought of but my steem power is a LONG way from that being possible at the moment. Still very cool to be paid for the same content I used to share for free on FB.
A residual income does not have to replace your main source of income. It is just an alternate source that pretty much works on its own. Steemit is not a true case of residual income, but if I wanted to (which i dont) only vote for myself $20 dollars a day, adding up to $600 dollars a month, leading to $7,300 extra dollars a year. Sounds nice eh?
For sure. I was just referring to the option of powering down as a source of guaranteed weekly income. My power down just wouldn't amount to much currently so I haven't considered that option yet.

Moments ago I received my 1st payout (yes, I'm entering my 8th day with steemit) and I must wait 3.5 days for the steem conversion to complete - hope I won't have a long wait to power up that steem 😃nicely written @elderfinancial and a strong move to support steemit!
Appreciate the kind words. Its great when you start to see the Steem machine in action. Once it starts flowing and moving around it truly starts to become exciting. Congrats on your first payout by the way!
Ha-ha I knew nothing about cryptocurrency wallets, I guess steemit is the "gateway drug" for cryptocurrencies for those who otherwise would pass on them LOL 😃
Absolutely. Steem is a great way to get involved in crypto without having to put up any real money yourself. Better start earning.
