Whats happen with the new user accounts? Do we have some sign up problems again?

so to me it is a sign up problem then.... what you guys think? Anyone ?
My girlfriend and two of my best friends opened accounts earlier this week but are yet to be approved. The day i applied mine it was approved in 24 hours. I think there's an influx of users in an unprecedented rate partly thanks to people like jerry banfield who promote steemit in paid ads on facebook (he is the reason I'm on steemit and i can't thank him enough)
Hope it's just a small problem and it will be fixed soon.
Community is growing, very exciting! Won't be too long until we reach 200k!
I was approved in less than 24 hours myself about a month ago. Must be the huge influx of new accounts maybe. I don't know how the whole approval process works. But I've read other posts here recently where it's taken over a week to get approved.

Mine friends can't register. It must be a signup problem. Btw. Let Steemit breath for a while. Because if it is overflooded none will really prosper besides the old users and the competition will be hard which will turn down all the new users thus giving Steemit a bad name.

Are they only processing accounts on work days? I wish they could tell us what resources they have for it. They need to automate the process to speed it up. We need thousands of new accounts each day to get the growth Steemit needs
I agree. I would think the process is automated. I guess not. Does an actual person have to approve every account?! No wonder it's taking so long. They definitely need to speed up the approval process. Taking a week or more could make people lose interest.
We don't really know what they are doing. I expect some people are using the alternatives like Anonsteem where you pay to get an account straight away

Hope it's sorted soon as I've asked friends to join, and some of them think it's all too good to be true. So they will turn away quite easy if it's any major waiting.

I think some people are using Anonsteem etc where you pay to get an account with no wait.

Hey guys, my account activation also took a few days and it was kind of strange to wait that long, just for a sign-up.. But all i can say is that nobody will regret waiting same as i don't. I'm happy i've joined steemit (never used FB or similar networks) and everyone will be for sure.

New signup request going to Admin for approval.
I'm happy it only took me a few hours to sign up as I know I would have been very frustrated sitting on the sidelines!
Ya it took me a while to get approved. I waited a week because others told me it takes that long. Then I just got on steem chat and they approved it right away. They are truly overwhelmed with new accts...which is a great problem to have!
Just spread the word. I noticed that almost everyone that hears about the concept of Steemit is interested in joining!

Yes that is frustrating of course but I also had to wait 8 days to be verified on Kraken and also 8 days to get my account opened on Steemit. Rome wasn't built in a day so in the beginning there always are some hiccups. Even though this is a big one lol.

Important issue. We all want the community to grow and quick sign up is key. Its hard to think of a social network which would offer anything but instant sign up. Perhaps more in-depth multi-stage verification could be done at key reputation levels or when funds become larger. Do you think that would work?
Well I guess it would be better to make it as easy as you can to sign up, otherwise people will loose interest....

Yes, very likely. Especially since I see this platform busy growing significantly based on seeing the number of influential people (in the gold and silver community) joining here recently - guys like sgtreport.com, peter of goldseek.com, for example. It follows naturally that their followers are doing the same as we speak.

Yeah, that's the problem. No one knows, so we are left to speculate. I know there is demand because I keep seeing posts saying it took them a while to get approved for a new account.
People I have tried to get to sign up have had very long waits. That was a few days ago though. What is involved with sign up? Other sites it's matter of seconds. You get the email of or the text code and it's done. Obviously on automatic. Thanks..
Looks like the signup process for steemit is more complicated....
I would think that the new account has to be woven somehow into the algorithms.
Maybe, hopefully not, we are growing at a very fast rate.

I heard some of them are still waiting for email approvals, I guess some changes are need to be made before accepting new users? It would be nice if there's any updates from them.

I signed up about 2 weeks ago and it took 3 days to be accepted. I think it's a combination of factors. Numbers applying etc. But posting rate being up is a good sign!!
