I have come to the realization that this platform means different things to different users. But one thing is constant, the earning potential of the platforms attracts lots of attention from users I like to call 'dreamers'. I've heard all sorts about the potential of steem and steemit.com to be THE player among various crypto currencies and how the decentralized social platform revolutionizing information will make its users rich.
For dreamers, I believe the choices are limited and can be categorized into the 'now' dreamers and the 'later' dreamers. They are both quite explanatory and are not necessarily mutually exclusive. The most dangerous thing with strictly being a 'now' user is the ability to get carried away with the price of steem. This becomes an issue as the dream is adjusted and readjusted based on curent prices.
While there are no bad aspirations as to the future of the platform and its users, I believe a long term commitment is what is needed. We need to come to an understanding of progression to attain such heights. Before you walk, you must crawl, and steem is no different. There is a process that needs to be followed for the steem dream to become a reality. One that requires personal discipline and a stronger community dedicated to its growth.
This rhetoric has been voiced so many times by users a lot better and more influential than I, but the steem dream for most should be allowed to mature and not interrupted before it becomes a reality.
The people still active on the block chain are a special bunch. Those who stick with it are about to become very influencial next wave, having a following and consistent content. @ironshield
I like your categorizations of the 'now' dreamers and the 'later' dreamers. Ultimately, I think, if someone has a long-term goal of content creation (regardless of the platform used) then they will win in the end. Regardless of the price of any cyrptocurrency.

When I joined steemit.com last month, I was a 'dreamer'. But i soon realized it goes beyond just earning. I have never bothered about the price of Steem. And my new thinking just makes me enjoy the platform without much recourse to the earnings.
The more the commitment, the more the fun and soon the earnings will follow.
I agree so much with this. I think if everyone came at this from an investment stand point we will all be better off for it. This is a really great platform because of the fact there is so much you can do on here. This is not get rich quick and I have only been here three days about and I can already see that. Take your time invest in steem power because one day the price could rise very high. Great post.
