It's very important to nourish your body and soul and get you some sources of inspiration and a nice place to work. I love to meditate before working so I get more focused and feel my inner balance :)
It helps me a lot to relax and flow in a positive and harmonic way.
Some good background music also helps me a lot to get inspired and keep to that "writing flow". It's like a help to not get distracted and keep on track for me :)
A bottle of water, smoothie or a cup of tea next to my laptop is also important. Why? Because when I am writing I easily forget time and so to drink enough. This reminds me to change this so I don't get a bad headache which stops me frome being productive.
Working in phases is also great to me. Working, for example, for one or two hours, than dance or do some Yoga for a while, than get back to writing for an hour and then taking a walk etc. is a great way to not get overwhelmed by all the thinking, writing and doing research. :)
And even if it may sound weird: If I feel like I stuck on my mind and getting blocked until I don't know what to write anymore, I start singing. Singing frees our mind and it helps me to get back to a creative mindset somehow :D
And of course:Looking old photos, going out to experience something, talking to people around me and reading helps me a lot to get inspired :)
