In this post I want to share my way of approaching this platform as relatively new user. I am doing it with few purposes: getting feedback from other people ( experienced users, newbies like me, basically everyone who wants to share it no matter what is their main topic here, because after all this is as much common topic as can be), getting advice on how I can successfully upgrade/update my goals and finally help someone who is not quite certain yet if possible.
1. BE RELEVANT
Here I want to stress out your main focus should be on things you do and discuss on daily basis. When you come to this platform you surely came with more or less clear list of what your interests are so you should work on posting and commenting content you really care and know something about. By that I want to advice you not to post just random like facebook statuses or leave most general comments on blogs such as: 'Good job' or 'Nice post'. If you decided to write about something you probably have something to say more than:' Hey people how are you or have a nice day', you really want to say why you think content you are commenting is good what is your point of view on it and just add your potential relevant comment that can start a new topic based on it.
2. BE PROACTIVE, DEDICATED AND AVAILABLE TO OTHERS
Here I want to advice you to check the topics you are interested about on daily basis and if you feel you have something to say about don't be shy. People (at least from my point of view) love to know people are interested on what they are writing about and are curious about feedback. Saying that, same stands for your own posts. If someone took their time to comment your post be kind enough to reply because, after all, that is the point of your story to exchange thoughts and views on topic. Finally, dedicated in a way you always try to keep your personal blog updated with the content you provide and be ready to spend at least some portion of your spare time on platform where people follow you because that is what responsible people do.
3. DON'T CARE ABOUT MONEY
For many people this is not easy to admit to themselves but joining steemit purely to earn money for living can be very problematic especially if it is number one goal. You are mainly here because you have your own set of interests or passions and you can share them in most comfortable way you ever could on internet. I have always looked money as a reward or byproduct of doing things you love in successful way so why would it be other way with steemit? In general when you hear people doing something strictly because first and last goal and drive is money you will not hear them being quite successful in the end of the road. This is relatively new platform full of potential and you are individual with certain set of interests, so why not just spread your interests and knowledge and see what it happens on the end of the road? I feel if you put things this way your eventual joy will be much sweeter or eventual disappointment won't be as great or maybe won't even exist.
This are my top 3 general impressions/goals/advices I have developed before and in the beginning of my steeming road. Hope someone can help me more what to add or change and on the other hand i hope some of you see something useful in the way on how to approach all of this
