Is there a list somewhere of these users or something broken down into tags they post in such as gaming? There is one community that is working on just trying get more good gaming content some rewards. While they are not focused on new accounts they are on gaming. If I found something that was up to their standards that was not a dlive or dtube video I’d be happy to pass along the link of there blog for that tag.
Biggest issues I’ve always had are the bots and copy/past spammers. Sadly the tag introduceyourself is just a horrible way to go if you are new. Too much spam and people just reposting there same blog over an over every few weeks.
514 Accounts sounds like a lot to focus on just for one person. I can only hope you find a way to break it up and get more people involved. This does sound like a wonderful experiment.

It will come Real Soon Now. As a former programmer, I know what that means. It does have the promise to be a real game changer, and kidding aside, I do think it will eventually be implemented.
However, I think it's also smart to come up with other curation strategies in the meantime. First, we don't know when it will come out (or how good it will really be). Second, this system is still very much in the birthing process - a preponderance of approaches, even (especially) failed ones, will help make it healthier in the long term. Third, there's no reason to think that current approaches and hivemind will be mutually exclusive.
I do some manual curation myself. On good days, I tell myself the above makes sense. On bad days, I tell myself it's a good rationalization to spend time browsing steemit rather than other social media.

Yep its a lot. 514 accounts. And that was after narrowing it down a lot. I could add another 1000 to that number if I widened some filters. All I can do is try and if I am running behind, I know there are people on steemit that will help
