As a member of Steemit World Meetup - Local Steem Events I received the following message:
There are 26 members in this group.
If nobody steps in the next four days the group will be closed:
Save this Meetup!
This Meetup group no longer has an organizer. A member needs to step up as the new organizer, or this Meetup will be closed in 4 days.
The monthly fee is $4.99 for Unlimited plan $2.99 for Basic plan.
What do you say?
Can we crowdfund the fee?
Here is the About us message from the original organizer:
The Steemit World Meetup is an open group and catalyst to new initiatives for LOCAL (In Person) steem related events and gatherings. This group will currently act as a central spot for all LOCAL events worldwide – The ultimate goal is this will help spin local steem chapters in different cities.
I find this mission still valid!
What do you think?
The proposition / ask for crowdfunding
If you think that keeping this Meetup group alive is beneficial to the community upvote and share the post.
If enough funds are collected (SBD and Steem as author's award from this and any subsequent posts) then I volunteer to step up as an organizer.
I will play an active role in attracting new group members and helping other Steemit Meetup groups.
This group can also act as a meetup interface for any local meetups without an actual / separate group.
The group can represent another promotion channel for the platform and community.
The Gist
- Let's crowdfund the subscription plan - from liquid rewards for this and any subsequent posts
- You can also directly donate any liquid amount you wish
- The initial aim is funding for at least six months of basic plan -> $17.94
- The cut off time is Sunday, December 11th 12PM CET
- If enough gathered I will step up as an organizer
- If not I will donate gathered amount to the charity of my choice
If we save the group then I will personally promote all of you that helped. In any way that I can. That's a promise!
Are we in?
BTW: you can also join the group :)
Please share this post even if you don't decide to chip in. Thank you!
Ps: every financial transaction will be documented here, of course!
Better and better!
These beautiful badges are prepared by @elyaque - thank you!
I thought I had followed you, I see your comments everywhere. But I did just now, and YOU ARE MY 3OOTH FOLLOW! Unrelated to your post.
I think it is a good idea, I am just not in a good position to be donating at this time WRT my personal circumstances and the accident.
I hope this is helpful for you. Best wishes.
I am honoured to be your number 300 :)
No problem at all. Sending positive energy counts too. A lot!
Here is a laugh for you:

We need a meetup in Toronto. I can help organize.
Hello and great. We can promote and organize the Toronto meetup through this group. You can act as a local organizer and I will help you through the Meetup platform.
And here, of course.
