“Came for the money, stayed for the community!”
Somebody was lying! It sure seems an awful quiet in here all of a sudden when the price is down to a fraction from the all time high and the rewards with that. It's either that, or half of the Steemians are devoted Christians and are celebrating Easter offline, somehow I doubt this...
I’ve always said that I don’t believe people who say that money doesn’t matter in here, it’s just a bonus, and in times like this, we see their true colours when they scurry off until the price picks up again. If you are here only for the money, at least have the balls to say so!
I admit that it is not as motivating to create quality fucking content when you get third of the rewards compared to a few months ago, but it’s nevertheless important to keep going. In my opinion it’s actually more important to keep active now when the price is down, because we do want to keep this place alive don’t we? If you are new here, now is the perfect time to make a name for yourself when many are being a lot less active, you’ll get noticed a lot easier.
1 Steem is still 1 Steem, and you actually earn relatively more Steem now, than when Steem was priced at it’s all time high. So when Steem moons, you’ll have more of it and you’ll be filthy rich. Guaranteed
While you are out somewhere in the real life, waiting for the new crypto high, I’m going to be here Steeming, along with a few other active members. Collecting all them SBDs and Steems to my little pockets to fund my adventures.
Dont be discourage with your very low payout @ your 1st year here in steemit world. Just keep on steeming with quality post and soon your payout will come along with it. 👍
I’m pretty sure you missed the whole point of this post, and I’m very disappointed to see someone with a high reputation selfvoting ALL their own comments. What does that tell to all the new users? That it is okay and recommented to spam comments and upvote them 100% to make money. Even though it is technically allowed, I think it is rude and pathetic. Shame on you.
The only reason I won’t flag this comment is that I want it to stay on top for others to see, but I will go and flag other comments of yours.
I can understand both sides of it. In one sense it does make sense to keep posting and keep active. Its likely that Steem and SBD will return back to where they were (or better) and those who stick with it will likely see the financial rewards. On the other hand, with only so many hours in the day and so little rewards currently being generated I wouldn't blame anyone for taking the "I can't be bothered right now" attitude. Especially when other forms of income (outside crypto) are still available and every bit as profitable as they were before the current crypto crash.
Obviously most people have real day jobs and Steemit is just a side things. Of course you have to prioritise the best you can, but if you magically had time to post four times a day in December, you'll probably have the time to do that now too. What I just hate is that people are so full of bullshit when they keep talking about community and creativity just for the sake of it, and supposedly don't care about the money.
I've no doubt people could make time to post, but what I mean is that I wouldn't blame anyone for deciding it wasn't worth their effort right now. You're right about the majority of people being full of shit when it comes to Steemit "not being about the money". That level of bullshit if rife on here though. Look at the number of whale accounts who post utter nonsense and then receive hundreds of comments kissing their ass. Money will compromise people's integrity, on or off this website, that fact will never change. Thats why your account can be quite refreshing. Compared to most successful accounts on here the quality of your content is original and consistant, and you don't seem to "play the game".
some of us kept on blogging on wordpress for years not monetising so this is like taking candy from a baby :)
Hahaha, exactly! :D We used to give this all for free.
This is almost 100% copied from the original post I happened to write.
It's using completely different words AND mostly different ideas too, but I'm sure this is completely wrong, so I flagged this.
Please don't mind I kind of borrowed the idea from you originally. Kind of.
Wtf is this, is @suesa giving you internet privileges in the basement!?
The premium package has been booked for him. It's rather expensive. Comes with bread baking supplies.
I hope he makes damn good bread for you! Otherwise he is completely useless.
Along with the occasional good joke.
Right now, he's entertaining enough. But I'm getting bored...
I'm slowly adding small amounts of cyanide so she won't notice the taste when I'm giving a fatal amount.
So it's really good bread.
Maybe you are actually making her(him!) immune to it by slowly increasing the doses!
Of course. I'm the one writing majority of her posts while she eats cheese and works out.
Dear potential Friend, I took the time to read your blog, and while this one is similar to yours. Inspirational blogs are many these days are many and doing well. that is where the similarity ends.
I have some planned myself very soon.
Steem on !
Well thank you. Luckily, this is a joke between me and eveuncovered.
Or that's what I'm saying, as I did actually flag the post. I'm quite sure flags every now and then make people feel better :)
Very good 😜 I'm taking up inspirational blogging myself these days in light of all the FUD to keep a balance, or try to offset the naysayers. recently 3 very different people have said Crypto is doomed to fail! where do they get their material? I've suspected mind control for years now and used to test the theory. I'll maybe do a blog about my findings.
Have fun and I will too. 😎
Cheers
Quite the opposite for me. I wasn't able to post for the past weeks because of lack of time. Still no much more but uncle Bernie was pointing fingers at me for not writing so I had no much choice.
(Oh my. Your laptop outshines you. Turn it off!)
I think if you had listened to a certain Steemian when she hinted that you should post more, you would have avoided the scolding by dear uncle Bernie 😈
Yep and this goes for the entire Crypto space. Just think about how most of the Whales on here got to where there are today? At one point Steem got down to 7 cents last year and some people took advantage of those steep discounts. Steem is not going anywhere. Its only the beginning! THe first Steem SMT has already raise $3 million dollars and counting in this 2nd worst bear market in Crypto history.
It's pretty cool that Steem has actually help up pretty damn well compared to Bitcoin for example! We are going to see some interesting things happen in the next year, can't wait :)
Lol yeah. Its frustrating having everything be dead. Every time I check chat it's dead, every time I check for new posts there are hardly any lol. I haven't been on as much as I'd like but to be honest I love when price is low, now is the time to accumulate!
I started sending freaking texts and dm's to people yesterday, trying to get someone to play with me! :( It'll probably always be like this, dealing out the weak hands in times of bear market.
Yeah. Its funny how many people came back during the peak... Just to leave again when it dropped
"I was busy with work and family stuff so I had to step away for a while, but now I'm back!"
Lol. I mean I get it, that happens. I happens to me too, but it doesn't exactly match price action lol
Totally agree. It’s a ghost town around here. Keep on Steemin in
I got a good feeling after reading this post! I'm really new, naive, and very eager to do this! The thought of giving up was pretty far away and after reading this ever further! SISUA! Resteemed and thank you :)
In a way, you are lucky that you joined after the all time high, because you don't have a sense of that insane high from getting crazy rewards for some simple things, keeps you a lot more humble and working hard :)
Yeah, probably a good thing! Well, I'm gonna keep it going and let's hope the better future is around the corner :)
a very useful post :) thanks for sharing ...
Keep believing and Steem on. For a plankton and minnow, the reward could be very insignificant. However, if we can do it continuously and accumulate SP day by day, eventually we will make it! That's the journey which I expect on this platform.
very good post
Hey, thanks for the nice encouragement in this post! I joind the Steemit when prices were really high. But you are totally right: 1 Steem is still 1 Steem :)
I 100% agree! I haven't made it big yet anyway, but I'm going to continue posting almost daily videos and posts, despite the steemit dollar being worth next to nothing. I am hoping that I can Hodl it all and reap the rewards when things pick up again 😁
Not yet, but I see you are getting good rewards every now and then, if you keep at it, you're gonna do good :)
Steem On and Hodl !
I'm still here reading all your blogs! So keep doing it for the ones still here!
I will, and I'm actually posting a lot more now than I have been ever before, need to work when I feel I have a goof flow with things :) Thank you for being a loyal follower ;)
I totally agree with you on this
I regretted not powering up last year before Steem and SBD later mooned year ending and in January.
Lesson learnt
Word! @eveuncovered. I came for the money and I am staying for the money too. Well, it's either that or I just love to write poetry and short stories everyday then take links all over the place, seeking for upvotes...
Seriously though, those who see beyond the sbd and steem cheque are the ones still steeming. I know there are some who are doing it for the love and others who are doing it for the potential they see in it. At the end of the day, if one does not have faith in a thing, one can easily walk away and if it is easy to work away when things are bad, then it means that one is not supposed to be here in the first place.
Not going to regret getting all this steem when the price goes up!
Definitely! :)
interesting and fantastic photography.@eveuncovered ( 69 )
I admit I was saying 'Just Keep Steeming' in Dori's voice from Little Nemo... It's what drew me in. I think you are absolutely right. We haven't been on here long, but I'm definitely taking advantage of the lack of random posts by some of the big wigs to actually get my genuine content seen. I admit I am loving this community more and more as I connect with other homesteaders in the world.
Good, that is where I got the idea for the title :D I think you are gonna like this place :)
I already do! Hubbie started an account for our farm and was fiddling with it while he learned. Then he shared what he was doing. Before you know it, I'm posting the content I usually put on our website or youTube on here first and connecting with more people. Only takes a few minutes more on my digital routine and I have some lovely chats with people on here.
I totally agree with you! It's worth to keep on steeming! In addition, this is a very good news that steem is down. Steem power grows more quickly now, because this system has a very good and fair algorithm.
I love the way you make so clear hahahaha Good advice! Thanks
Honestly most of the steemians im following here are gone! Sad to say but it’s true! All I can see in my feed now are resteemed posts. Steemit on!
They'll come back as soon as the markets start to recover, though that might be a while..
very nice steemit buddy, i really like steemit.
you hit the target and that is the reality. people use to scroll the post only when you have SP, that is wrong. I admit we came here for the money but the author must be appreciated for his or her efforts.
source
Well done keep it up and post the realities.
I'll keep on steeming along with you building a following and hoping one day my ship will come in. But Things will need to change for this platform to make people stick around in the tough times. Shit posts are still getting nearly $1000 dollars on the trending page and this is creating a new class of whale bid bots (Let's call them Killer whales). I believe they are Killing the social of this social network.
Ok I'll get down off my soap box.
Very thoughtful and wise of you.
There is wisdom in what you said, thanks for the little tip, i am reinvigorated to keep steeming
word, it's like a ghost town and people seem extra stingy.
I think a lot of people get emotional when crypto prices swing wildly, but it is just something they should learn to cope with if they want to be in this space.
when you see such paltry rewards it makes you want to save your best work for later
But think of it this way, by making those good posts, you can earn yourself a following, which comes in handy when things pick up again. And you should always keep improving anyway :)
Wise words from a wise heart, we not giving up, we go steem.
I'm here because of people like you ^^
Steem on!
Awww, thank you :)
I don't write every day but I read everyday. I cruise around and read articles.
Lets KEEP THIS PLACE ALIIIIIIVEE!!!!!! WOOO!
Well you sure are a lively (and lovely) creature, if anyone! :D
When it's quiet, is actually a better time to post. Less competition.
Steemit has something going for it that none of the other places has: a lack of a group of busy bodies actively seeking to censor content. Even if a post is downvoted to dust, the post is still on the blockchain and can still be seen. I see the censorship brigades on Google+, Facebook and Twitter. Steemit also has permanence: as long as there are nodes providing access to the blockchain, my content is alive and well. Steemit, Busy.org, and a few other sites provide an interface to the blockchain. An open interface is a big deal.
Steemit has also forced me to learn new skills that I didn't need on the aforementioned mainstream sites. I'm learning Markdown. I'm using a new text editor, StackEdit, in order to preview my Markdown posts and save a copy. I'm learning how to insert pictures and center them in my posts with Markdown.
Steemit is also informing me of an entire ecosystem of development built on the Steem blockchain. The main point of Steemit then, is that the value of the blockchain comes from the development of applications on top of it.
So, even while prices are down, I'm still posting. I like to write and I like posting here. Writing isn't as much fun unless I share it. So I share it here, and post links to my posts in the aforementioned mainstream sites. Each cross-post of my articles on Steemit will direct attention to the Steemit posts that I make. Over time, with people like me cross-linking our posts, more and more people will come to Steemit (or busy.org). With each post, I'm planting seeds in the minds of others when they see the $ next to my post.
It's only a matter of time.
This is exactly the I have been looking at the price decline. Work harder now to get as much you can get on the cheap. Remember that getting the Steem and SBD could be considered income for tax purposes so if you see getting more now than it is less income but can be worth much more in the future if you hold.
Lol yeah, I was wondering why it suddenly got so quiet on Steemit. I don't mind too much, not going to start writing any more or less. I'm still happy as long as Steem is worth more than $1 :)
Quick look at the price of Steem and SBD usually tell you how wild it is in here :D
Do you put ketchup on your guys?
I don't play with food, that is total waste! ;D
Its truly comforting and enlightening @eveuncovered. Thanks a lot for motivating. Be bless. Shalom
YEs...it is true ... You must try every day :)
Just joined and I don't see a reason to stop writing...Those who stay might have a better content anyway :)
STEEM goes up, STEEM goes down, it doesn't matter, we have to grind that Steem Power. :D
Keep steeming is the only secret to the lower prices
Well said Last week i took off some with out posting so i kept engaging with the community but hey it was a great experience i felt satisfied at the end of the day you guys keep steemit lively
Thanks@eveuncovered it is an amazing post
It's also April Fools Day, so everyone could be kidding themselves and a little preoccupied. Who knows? I'm with you on remaining to collect. No shame in the game.
Isn't April Fools tomorrow? Or are you from the future, aka Asia? :D
What great content, encourages the community to continue growing, has great value in its publications, congratulations. The best publication I've read in the day;)
I came on board after during the correction so it really has not been a factor in my attitude toward steemit. I just love posting and the discourse. Well, I only post a few times a week so I guess more than anything I like is discourse. I didn't come here to pick a fight and I stay here because of the higher quality of people. The correction has caused, I think, some rift-raft to satisfy their greed elsewhere and I don't think that is a bad thing.
How true, I noticed that my 2 recent posts have gotten more votes yesterday. So I'm to try to do at least 2 posts a day going forward.
many are greedy here ,, they are more concerned with dollars ,, i just started and hopefully i do not become selfish as well @eveuncovered
Well I intend to stay here. Wizard likes his tobacco and the Shire provides great tobacco.:P
Regardless of the prices, I am too always in here Steeming!
All I hear is the loud sucking sound of multiple accounts draining the reward pool. I had my reasons for pulling back, and that hasn't changed.
This platform sometimes defies understanding. When I stopped, I had around 270 followers. Now I have 361. I've done nothing but comment on things here and there - that's it.
Is it bots? Some odd algorithm glomming on to my post history and auto-following out of some inherent directive? I may never know.
I don't depend on Steem, my main thing is trading crypto - and I do that daily, but its really weird to me how things ebb and flow here, and I don't think its all human.
Bleep-bloop, hello all you robots.
I have noticed the same thing. I have 180 followers and I am sure that 60-80% of them are bots or just people who are trying to get a follow back.
