What does steemit need? Good authors. How can we get more of these good authors to come to the platform? Offer better payment for their work... Yet, "BlockTrades beginning development of Steem Proposal System" will reduce author payouts.

Pawns have no voice
It is bad enough that we, more popular authors, get like a dollar for good posts when we finally manage to get a good audience. Whales aren't upvoting us. Most top witnesses aren't upvoting us. Sure, there are exceptions, but if you check their vote power, it is usually either full and completely unused, or they only upvote their political allies.
To all of you who upvote me, I love you guys, and I'm extremely grateful. I just wish some of the top stakeholders would feed us, minnows. Instead, some of the voices who represent them focus on bashing bidbots and the lack of apps - both of which wouldn't be a problem if they actually invested in steemit instead of trying to get more out of steemit.
It's not expensive to hire some devs who can code good apps for steemit. But it's not happening. The biggest apps we have are really steemmonsters and magic-dice. All of that money going from pocket to pocket, yet none of it is doing anything to make steemit more attractive to the masses. Changes only affect the highest rank steemians.
When we look at any totalitaristic nation in the world, which are all shitty, it's always easy to see why.
Always steemit need committed and good author like you have said. But the problem is how to attract them as many of them tend to run immediately they hear the word cryptocurrency
No, that's not a problem. They only need two things: an easy way to register (which they don't have) and an easy way to withdraw (which they don't have). They don't even need to understand or care about what crypto means.
