RE: Weeding out the comments RUBBISH!

in #steemit7 years ago

This post crossed my timeline on FB yesterday because even the little time I've been on Steemit, I have noticed posts that make no sense to me (and I'm not talking about the tech posts that probably do make sense but they might as well be gibberish - to me), and also, some of the comments have been to ask me to up vote and to follow. Now, I ask myself why would I want to follow a blog I have no interest in reading?

And then there is the fellow who commented on a post and said he'd followed me. I thanked him and didn't follow him immediately. He unfollowed me. I looked at this blog when I had time and BECAUSE I LIKED WHAT I SAW, I followed him. He followed back. Thank you, but sigh....I'd rather people followed because they like what I post and will engage.

Here endeth my rant! lol

lol! it's so weird the same ppl who unfollow you will follow u again and undo-redo their "follow" to nudge u or something.
gosh..... should I do the same to them???

Probably yes! Makes me wonder about their authenticity. I hate the word because it's become a cliche, but it's apt.

Hi Asia ;)

Great to see you :D

lol I was a "serial follower" at first, I actually had a reason to follow each one, but they were not always a good "steem-specific" reason to follow someone. As in I liked their screen name. But only if it catches my attention :D
I had a big cull session of followers, early this year. I have about 3 FOLLOWS per Follower. It's about right, but I still need to trim the follows a bit more, using the Dead Followers listing. That is searchable on steemit, btw.
