Thank you @omitaylor for this comprehensive post. Having been phished, I am particularly appreciative and your rant is not inappropriate. That said, I have also had fabulous support from folk like @zord189, @raymondspeaks, @fates and @simplymike. It's also a bit weird that after I went through the "rehab" process to clean up the mess and restore my rep, I got locked out of the account. The hack was on Wednesday. Locked out on Friday. Don't know why. Requested account recovery. Still not had the email to recover it. Am nagging @steemcleaners daily. That said, I am told that account recovery is manual and we have had a weekend, so I must cut @steemit some slack. That said, also, I think that having humans doing the account recovery, while it may be time-consuming and there may be the odd human error, maybe a bit more secure. Or am I just being naieve?
