I have Parkinson’s Disease and it reduces the use of my right side significantly. One of the ways to slow the progression of this disease is to do activities that force you to use your body in ways that are being inhibited by the disease. Such as the motion of skiing! Swinging your arms back and forth while cross country skiing helps exercise and strengthen and counter balance the effects of Parkinson’s Disease.
So today Addie and I went out and had some fun. I bought some new ski boots for both of us and we used our old skis. Addie went without poles as she normally does but I fall down a lot so need mine.
Here is a look at my gear:
We were along a train route for the coal and iron ore mines. Also the hydro-power plant.
Addie took most of the pictures as I simply focused on not falling down. But I did get a few of her as well. It seems like we were far out in the woods but actually only maybe a 1/2 mile or so and actually skied about 2 miles give or take.
Here are some pictures:
Sun in the eyes :)

Great exercise for your right side to strengthen all your muscles.
yeppers...
Great that you found some downhill slopes but the harder part is coming back up. No ski lifts here folks.
i walk down the hills. cant handle the speed.
I would like to get out there in that snow with a dirt bike with knobby tires. I could give you a tow back up the hill or in the steep parts.
lol...
You are living life to it's fullest.
trying to :)
Looks like a good time!
yeppers and a good workout too...
You still expend more energy in an afternoon outing than the Lewiston ghoul does in an entire week.
not to hard to do ;)
